Torna Fort or Prachandagad is a large fort located in Pune district (at 1405 metres above sea-level, the tallest in the district) in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is historically significant as one of the first forts to be captured by Shivaji in 1643, forming the nucleus of the Maratha empire. The name derives from Prachanda (Marathi for huge or massive) and gad (Marathi for fort).

The fort is over a mile in length. Important buildings within the fort include:

• Konkan Darwaja (Marathi: Konkan door)
• Kothi Darwaja
• Bini Darwaja
• Menghai Goddess temple
• Toranjai Goddess temple
• Budhla Machi
• Zunjar Machi
• Sadar

I am trying to take a good snap of my ride and was unsuccessful till now either the light will be more or it will be dark any tips from your side ?

I am not at all professional photographer. Its More part of Camera that my skill . Has very good camera.

First Tip of the day is Always check where is Sun. If you are taking Images into sun then it will always be Dark.

This is my 5th trek of this year.

Distination- Torana Fort (Prachandgad)
Day - 25th Septmber 2010
Group - 9 peoples
Transport- 2 cars (Punto and Wagoner)
Start Time- Morning 6:00 am
Morning route - Pune to Velhe via Pable Ghat.
Reached to Base village - Velhe 9:15 am
Trek stated - 9:30 am.
Reached on top - 12:30 pm.
Total time to reach for upwards - 3 hours.
Places on fort- Temple, Budhla machi (Covered all points on that side)
Total time on fort spend - 2.5 hours.
Temple to budhala machi and return - 1.5 hours.
Fort to base village - 2 hours.
Return to pune- via highway.
Total distance ~160km. (got avg 15.5 km/lit on Punto MJD)
