Tesla Recalls 285,000 Cars in China over Cruise-Control Problem

On Saturday, Tesla initiated a recall of more than 285,000 cars in China over safety concerns about the Model 3 and Model Y cruise control system. China's State Administration for Market Regulation said that in certain models the cruise control can be mistakenly switched on when drivers attempt to change gears or if they brush the gear selector by accident, which has the potential of causing the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly. The recall consists of 249,855 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles built at Tesla's Shanghai factory, as well as 35,665 Model 3s that were imported.

Porsche Taycan recalled over sudden power loss problem

Porsche is recalling versions of the all-electric Taycan made before June of this year, to correct a software fault that can cut the vehicle’s power without warning.

A glitch in the software communications between the Taycan’s powertrain controller and the power electronics causes the car to bring up a dashboard warning urging the driver to find a safe place to stop. The vehicle cuts drive but can still be steered and braked to a halt; if travelling at around 75mph, there would be around 90 seconds to do this before the Taycan would run out of momentum, Porsche estimates.

Ram Recalling 212,373 Ram 1500 Classic, 2500 and 3500 Pickups over Airbag

2019-ram-2500-singlecab-longbed-101-1559052682.jpg?crop=0.730xw:0.703xh;0.157xw,0.jpg

Stellantis has issued a statement saying it will voluntarily recall 212,373 Ram pickups to replace defective side curtain airbags. The inflators in the airbags were "contaminated by moisture" during manufacturing, the company said, which could cause the airbags to rupture even in the absence of a crash or airbag deployment. If that happened, Stellantis said, debris could explode into the passenger cabin.

The recall includes 2015–2020 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, 3500 cab-chassis trucks, and previous-generation Ram 1500 pickups, known as the Ram Classic. The current-gen 2019–2021 Ram 1500 is not included.

Ford Recalls 16,430 F-150 Trucks over Improper Seatbelt Installation

2021-ford-f150-xl-supercab-1630086120.jpg?crop=0.789xw:0.666xh;0.0882xw,0.jpg

Ford is recalling 16,430 F-150 SuperCab trucks from the 2021 model year over an issue with seatbelt installation. The webbing of the seatbelt may have been incorrectly routed through a rubber trim sleeve instead of an anchor as it should have been, and in the instance of a crash, the seatbelt may be unable to properly restrain the driver and passenger, increasing chances of injury.

Tesla To Recall Nearly 12,000 U.S. Vehicles Over Software Communication Error

Tesla Inc is recalling nearly 12,000 U.S. vehicles sold since 2017 because a communication error may cause a false forward-collision warning or unexpected activation of the automatic emergency braking system, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday.

The California automaker said the recall of 11,704 Model S, X, 3 and Y vehicles was prompted after a software update on Oct. 23 to vehicles in its limited early access Full-Self Driving (Beta) population.

2022 Volkswagen Tiguans recalled for brake problems

2022-vw-tiguan-recall-brake-pipe-%281%29-250.png

Nearly 1,600 Volkswagen Tiguan SUVs are recalled to check for loose nuts that hold the brake pipes located near the right front wheel wells.
The 2022 VW Tiguans may leak brake fluid which increases the stopping distances.

However, VW says the brake problem will occur on only one brake circuit having reduced performance.

Volkswagen found the problem in September with a loose brake pipe nut. VW engineers investigated the problem and determined it occurred during manufacturing.

A Tiguan driver should see a warning light if the brake fluid level is too low.

Nearly 1,300 of the Tiguans are recalled in the U.S., and 300 SUVs are recalled in Canada.

Volkswagen dealers will inspect and make sure the brake pipe nuts are tightened to specification.

VW Tiguan recall notices will be mailed December 31, 2021.

Tiguan owners may contact Volkswagen at 800-893-5298 and refer to recall number 19Q4.

toyota-camry-brake-vacuum-pump-recall-250.png

A Toyota Camry brake vacuum pump recall involves nearly 235,000 model year 2018-2019 cars in the U.S. and Canada that could lose power braking.

According to Toyota, the cars could lose power brake assist if certain vacuum pump components prematurely wear out, although non-power braking will still be functional.

The Toyota Camry vacuum pump recall includes 227,400 cars in the U.S. and 7,302 in Canada.

Toyota Camry owners will be notified about the brake vacuum pump recall in January 2022, but owners with questions should call 800-331-4331.

CarComplaints.com will update this page when NHTSA releases information about the Camry recall.

Audi Passenger airbag recall

audi-passenger-airbag-off-recall-250.png

An Audi passenger airbag recall involves more than 243,000 of these Audi vehicles that could show "Passenger Airbag OFF" warning lights.
  • 2017-2020 Audi A4 allroad
  • 2017-2020 Audi A4 Sedan
  • 2018-2019 Audi RS 5 Coupe
  • 2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback
  • 2018-2020 Audi A5 Cabriolet
  • 2018-2020 Audi A5 Coupe
  • 2018-2020 Audi A5 Sportback
  • 2018-2020 Audi S4 Sedan
  • 2018-2020 Audi S5 Cabriolet
  • 2018-2020 Audi S5 Coupe
  • 2018-2020 Audi S5 Sportback
The Audi passenger airbag recall was announced because the cable connecting the seat heater to the passenger occupant detection system may have a contact fault. This can cause the software to misdiagnose a malfunction and disable the Audi passenger airbag.

The Audi recall is an expansion of a 2019 recall of 144,000 vehicles for the same passenger airbag problems, and all vehicles allegedly repaired in 2019 will need to be returned to dealers for this latest recall.

Audi engineers weren't sure what caused the failures when the July 2019 Audi passenger airbag recall was announced. But the automaker monitored the field and noticed repeated repairs on vehicles that had received the recall repairs.

And reports increased about passenger airbag problems in vehicles that hadn't been included in the 2019 airbag recall.

Engineers eventually determined the wire cables used in production until November 2019 were prone to contact errors leading to deactivation of the passenger airbags.

An Audi driver will hear a warning sound and see a Passenger Airbag OFF warning indicator light.

The U.S. Audi passenger airbag recall includes more than 208,000 vehicles, and in Canada more than 35,000 Audi vehicles are recalled.

Audi owners should receive passenger airbag recall notices in January 2022, and dealers will replace the connecting cables and either the heating mats or entire seat covers.

Audi owners may call 800-253-2834 and use passenger airbag recall number 74E3.

Toyota recalls 2022 Sienna Minivans with faulty seat belts

2022-toyota-sienna-seat-belt-recall-250.png

A 2022 Toyota Sienna seat belt recall involves more than 2,300 8-passenger Siennas that were equipped with second-row outboard seat belts that were manufactured with incorrect components.

Toyota says this can cause the seat belt to “bunch” in the seat belt shoulder anchor in certain crashes and possibly cause the seat belt webbing to tear.

The 2022 Toyota Sienna recall includes about 2,300 minivans in the U.S. and another 73 in Canada.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hasn't announced the recall, but Toyota says Sienna owners will be notified of the seat belt recall in January 2022.

Toyota dealers will replace the outboard second-row seat belt assemblies in the 2022 Sienna minivans.
