BMW has launched the M4 Competition M xDrive 50 Jahre M Edition at Rs 1.53 crore (ex-showroom) in India. This means that the new special edition version of the performance coupe costs Rs 9 lakh more than the standard BMW M4 Competition coupe. Wondering what that additional premium gets you?

The M4 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition gets the iconic BMW Motorsport emblem on the front, rear, as well as the wheel hub caps. This unique logo was first used on race cars of BMW Motorsport GmbH, founded in 1972. You also get M-specific exterior mirrors finished in high-gloss black that BMW claims feature aerodynamically optimized contouring. The car also sports aerodynamically optimized fins, a rear spoiler and two pairs of exhaust tailpipes finished in black chrome.

The car gets M design lettering elements in places such as the door sill panels bearing, a metal plaque on the centre console and seat headrest. It also gets M Seat belts, a multifunctional M steering wheel, seat heating with lumbar support, electrical seat adjustment with memory function, and automatic anti-dazzle function in all mirrors. The M4 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition is equipped with lightweight Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) roof in order to lower the centre of gravity, reduce weight and enhance agility.

The car is equipped with Adaptive M-Specific Suspension, M Sport Differential, M xDrive all-wheel drive system, M high performance compound brakes and 19-inch (front)/20-inch (rear) M forged wheels in polished Orbit Grey and Gold Bronze. The colour options on the car include Macao Blue and Imola Red. BMW is offering some exclusive accessories with the M4 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition such as M Performance steering wheel in carbon fibre/Alcantara options, tailpipe trim in carbon fibre etc.

The twin-turbo 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine from the standard car is carried forward with power output unchanged at 503 bhp and 650 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 8-speed automatic gearbox.
