Yes! Since the Tigor EV is already being sold to EESL, it is very much on the cards to be made available for the common buyers as well. Having seen the Tiago & Tigor EV in flesh, I can say that both will make a very good competition for the other brands who are venturing in this segment.

This is great news for me. I'll pick it up if TIGOR is price around 10-11 lakhs.
Hope So. To EESL, the price per unit of Tigor EV was approx 11.2 Lac (Incl. AMC) so considering that and the fact that recent TML cars have been priced very well, we can expect a reasonable pricing for this one too and mind you, in terms of looks, features and appeal, it is not less than a regular Tigor and same for Tiago too. The engine bay of EV-Tigor is very well packed as I saw. I definitely look forward to driving it once it hits the roads.

Regards

Akash

Without fast charging network, it would be a huge mistake. It is better to wait till electric ecosystem matures a bit before buying.

Any more information when can we expect Tigor EV launch for Private use. Priced at 11.2 lacs might be little steep but it has 0% road tax, and hope some excise benefits too from GOI. Yes fast charging infrastructure is required for sure.

Tata Tiago/Tigor Electric to be launched in 2 months?

Tata Motors has revealed that it’s been working on an electric car that’ll be launched in two months’ time. However, the automaker has not clearly specified the name of the car that will be launched. It’s highly likely that the Tata Tigor Electric compact sedan would make its debut as the first Tata electric car for private car buyers. This is because of the fact that Tata Motors has already been supplying the Tigor Electric sedan to the Indian government, which indicates that the car is road-ready. Technical specifications of the Tigor Electric sedan have not been revealed though, and it remains to be seen if the private car buyer version is the same as the one that Tata sells to the government.

Production of Tigor EV is already underway at Sanand facility

Assuming that the Tata Tigor Electric sedan sold to private buyers will have the same specs as the government version, expect the car to have a range of about 130 kilometers per charge. A top speed of 100 Kph is also likely. However, government officials have been complaining that the real world range of the Tata Tigor EV is less than 100 kilometers.

This is something that the automaker will have to seriously look into considering the fact that such a short range would make the Tigor EV more or an urban runabout with very limited use. As for pricing, the car could retail at Rs. 9 lakhs considering the fact that government is all set to offer a 20% subsidy on electric cars.

Another car that Tata Motors could bring to the market, but at a lower price point, is the Tiago EV. Notably, the Tiago EV was showcased not only at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo, but also last year in an event held in the United Kingdom. This is another car that is a potential candidate for Tata Motors’ electric car foray in the Indian market. If launched, the Tiago Electric hatchback is expected to start from around Rs. 8 lakhs, and could feature similar specifications of the Tigor. Watch this space for more updates on Tata Motors’ latest electric vehicle plans for the Indian market.

Tata Tigor electric now part of Jharkhand state – Handed over to govt. officials

Last week, Jharkhand became the first state in the east of India to introduce electric vehicles in its government fleet as part of the EESL scheme. Jharkhand Chief Minister, Raghubar Das flagged off 20 white Tata Tigor electric cars from the state secretariat Project Building at Ranchi.

He was seen taking a short spin as a passenger in one of the cars. The first lot of 20 cars is part of a 50 fleet order that Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is supplying to Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam (JBVNL).The move under Union power ministry looks to strengthen the use of electric vehicles as part of government fleets.

Following the delivery of the first twenty Tata Tigor EVs on 13th September, 2018, the remaining 30 cars are to be delivered within a fortnight. The 50 car fleet is purchased for use by the state’s energy department officials.

In his address, CM said such measures are essential for a pollution-free environment today. Jharkhand is now the fifth state to have introduced environmentally friendly vehicles for government use.

Delhi, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments have already introduced a small number of electric cars as official vehicles to encourage the Centre’s e-mobility goal to replace 30 per cent of government vehicle fleets with electric cars by 2030.

EESL is providing 50 cars, along with drivers to JBVNL on a 6 year lease for which the latter is required to pay Rs 40,000 pm for each car. 3 charging stations have been set up for now. One each at JBVNL corporate headquarters at HEC township, at Kushai complex and near Raj Bhavan.

The fleet of 50 electric cars sets JBVNL to save over 1.20 lakh litres of fuel of each year. Adapting will help reduce spending as maintenance cost is about one-fourth when compared to ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles, alongwith reduced carbon footprint of 1,400 tonnes of CO2.

Tata Tigor electric test drive unit spotted at dealer – Exp. launch price Rs 13 L

2019-tata-tigor-electric-dealer-launch-test-drive-7.jpg

Word around the dealerships is the Tata Tigor EV could carry a price tag of around Rs 13 lakhs but it is unclear whether it is on-road or ex-showroom price. We are not sure if this amount is inclusive of the FAME-II subsidy or not. Tata Motors would also launch the Tiago EV in the foreseeable future to take on the upcoming Maruti WagonR EV.

Tata Tigor EV priced from Rs 9.99 lakh

zer.ashx?n=http%3a%2f%2fcdni.autocarindia.com%2fExtraImages%2f20190626063845_Tata-Tigor-EV-front.jpg

Prices for Tata’s highly anticipated first all-electric vehicle, the Tigor EV, are finally known. Priced from Rs 9.99 lakh (and going up to Rs 10.90 lakh), the Tata Tigor EV is only available to fleet operators and not for private buyers, yet. This ex-showroom price includes TCS (a 1 percent tax levied on cars that cost above Rs 10 lakh) and incentives provided by the Indian government’s FAME II scheme (which amounts to Rs 1.62 lakh). This means that without breaks offered by the government scheme for electric vehicles, the Tigor EV costs between Rs 11.61 lakh and Rs 11.71 lakh. Including taxes and incentives, the Tigor EV’s price is about Rs 4 lakh more than the equivalent petrol Tigor variant.
