What 18.5 kmpl [surprise] , i am absolutely amazed[shock]

Long Live the King
Yeah! and its not the first time, I rechecked the mileage on back to back trips, once it was 17 kmpl and this time 18.57 kmpl to be accurate. And to clear any doubt regarding the FE I have also gotten worse figures of 10kmpl with aggressive driving style. This time never went above 70-80 kmph.[:)]

Few questions merc :

1] How much difference there is between acceleration/top speed of both 2.0 lt and 3.0 lt safaris?

2] what was the max mileage you got from your 2.0 tcic?

1) Acceleration is uncomparable, that 2.0L motor was although more refined but slow almost like driving a truck. For top speed I have not checked on both the vehicles. But the company said that 2.0 TCIC had top speed of 145 kmph and 3.0 somewhere between 150-160 kmph.

2) 15 kmpl was the best I could extract from that 2.0L TCIC motor.

The vehicle is up for 75K kms service, works tobe done:

1) General service with engine oil and filter change.

2) Camber adjustment. The vehicle pulls slowly to left even after correct alignment and no tyre eating issue and with right air pressure.

3) Front brake pads tobe replaced.

4) Door setting tobe done.

5) A whistling noise after 2K rpm is audible seems a turbo hose problem.

Thanks.[:)]

so what was cost of all this
Still tobe done! Any idea about the whistling sound above 2000 rpm?

A rough estimate, the oil will cost around 1400 Rs and the door setting and other labour will be FOC due to a TASC camp been going on.[clap]

Engine oil= 1400 rs, so you use mineral oil right, I thought most Safari owners use synthetic engine oil.

Yeah! Synthetic oil is waste of money when used in Safari DICOR. That's the cost of Shell Rimula R3 or Shell HX6 that I will be using.
