Also an interesting thing i noticed today. The sunroof seemed to have rain sensor. There was a light drizzling today and when i tried opening the sunroof, it kept shutting automatically. But no issue was faced when there was no rain.
I am not sure if this is a feature in nexon as i havent seen this being advertised and mentioned in Nexon anywhere but have seen it being mentioned in harrier.

If this is true, then it is simply brilliant and (common sense forethought too) I will applause Tata for that.

You can try by sprinkling water from a mug or bottle ..and do a mock rain effect at your home and confirm .

You hear thud sound on rotating steering right or left but please tell from where?
Did you mean from wheel area or from the steering column area? Can you locate the area of the sound??

Anyone has upgraded their Nexon headlights? The low beam visibility is poor at night with no street lights. I sometimes have to unwillingly drive on high beam.

Nexon Engine Air filter,Oil filter and Engine oil change. Done as a DIY.

Old vs New air filter. Old one was not very dirty but was actually damaged,so had to change it anyway.

Few paper areas were torn/shattered in the old filter

New one installed.Looking all good and neat and shiny.
IMG-20201005-WA0020.jpg

Old one will be thrown off.

Only 3 bolts to hold down the filter.Very-very easy to change it ,unlike my XUV where its a very messy and gooey affair,as the filter is of wet type there.
IMG-20201005-WA0026.jpg

Old oil filter was covered in mud and grime
IMG-20201005-WA0018.jpg

Old copper crush washer had to be cut/spliced open, in order to replace is with a new one.
IMG-20201005-WA0030.jpg

Before starting the DIY,remove the negative terminal of battery
IMG-20201005-WA0035.jpg

And cover it up with some plastic,so that it does not come in contact with tools or any metallic part.

Despite of less usage the old oil was very dark and dirty and sort of murky.

I put up this 5 litre mark so that I can know how much oil came out of the engine

Continued :

After the DIY following changes observed:
Car feels more silent.Engine sound is subdued, specially on acceleration.
Pickup is improved, because maybe the old air filter was not doing well.
Lots of satisfaction and victory kind of feeling in my heart,as if i have done something big.
Although it's a common oil change,a very puny thing for ASS,but its a big thing for me doing it in my home with my own tools, with nobody to ask something from ,and no assistant to help. And this is only my hobby.Just like every DIYer I am no mechanic, and do all this for the love of my rides.

Tools I used in this DIY:
Socket no 16 with an extension bar

A Ratchet wrench(A ratchet is a mechanical device that allows continuous linear or rotary motion in only one direction while preventing motion in the opposite direction) source wikipedia

Oil Filter opener/Socket
IMG-20201006-WA0010.jpg

This one too is meant as an oil filter spanner, but this one grips it so badly that it tears the oil filter!!
IMG-20201006-WA0014.jpg

The jaws are very sharp, very useful if the filter is stuck badly
IMG-20201006-WA0003.jpg

Old empty can of oil
IMG-20201006-WA0008.jpg
IMG-20201006-WA0007.jpg

Any other 5 litre can will work too
IMG-20201006-WA0006.jpg

A Tasla/ Big pan for catching all the draining old oil
IMG-20201006-WA0005.jpg

Any yoga mat for lying upon while working under the car.
IMG-20201006-WA0004.jpg

Warnings:
Do not drain engine oil, when engine is very hot.Risk of burn injury!!
Do not put new oil if you have not tightened the oil pan bolt first. It will drain off from below.
Do not work under the car if its raised on jacks only. Can get crushed to death!! And it will look stupid too.
Wear full sleeve shirt to avoid nicks and cuts on forearms.Lots of them.
As usual the warnings always come after the spell. Please forgive me for that.

Thanks for watching my DIY.
