Tata Nano is No More Rs.1 Lakh Car.

‘Rs.1 Lakh Car’ is what the Tata Nano was popularly called before it officially debuted. Soon after the launch, it made people go crazy to book one right away because of an irresistible price tag and design it carried. Tata Nano however may be now purchased on the spot but it is no more Rs.1 Lakh car from today. Tata Motors has decided to hike prices which have resulted Nano’s base variant to cost Rs.1.49 Lakhs, where as the most preferred top-end variant is now available for Rs.2.01 Lakhs (Ex.Showroom), these prices apply from November 1, 2010 onwards.

Yes the hike was quite expected! I personally feel the top-end model is a touch over-priced! An Alto can be a better option!

Most would chose Nano if TATA gets an slight edge in quality over the current models.

Recent Engine Fire glitches & Electrical short circuit played a big game in sales of Nano.

yup agree. definitely this thing was certainly expected to happen one day or another..though even if it remains cheapest car i cant think of any special reason to buy it when we have Alto which is also much 'safer' car..
