Re: Tata Nano To Come in CNG Version

how much kg is that ? 12kg tank occupies whole boot space in WaganR.
12 kg tank of WagonR has 60 liter water capacity, so 35 liter is equivalent to little more 6 kg.

In 12 kg we can fill max 8.5 kg so in 6 kg we might get around 4 kg and one has to wait in CNG queue too frequently.

Spied – Tata Nano CNG emax spotted in Pune, launching soon

The Tata Nano emax CNG was unveiled at the company’s Horizonext 2013, which saw a slew of model updates and refreshes.

The Nano emax is scheduled to go on sale in the next 70 days, along with the Indigo eCS emax and the Indica eV2 emax CNG models.

The Nano CNG that you see in the spy shot has a ‘CNG’ logo and there seems to be no ‘emax’ logo on it. Strange considering that the Nano unveiled at the Horizonext had an ‘emax’ logo.

Inside the car, the speedometer of the has a green colored outline to it, signaling the Nano CNG’s low emissions and high fuel efficiency. You also get a button to toggle between the CNG and petrol driving modes.

Tata says that the sequential gas injection system has been calibrated for smartly switching between the two driving modes. An automatic CNG cut-off system and fuel quality checking system has also been incorporated.

The Nano emax comes with a 32-liter tank for storing the CNG and has an ARAI certified efficiency of 36km/kg. It promises a CO2 emission of only 75g/km making it one of India’s cleanest cars.

After working out the price of CNG in Delhi, we figure that the Nano emax would cost you only Rs 1.11/km when driven purely on CNG mode.

Tata will be offering a 4-year/60,000km warranty on the Nano CNG emax.

Now,if they can add front disc brakes, electronic power steering, and a small diesel motor,it would make Nano a perfect small car for the cities and occassional highway trip.

"built to order"?? does that mean TML is not really expecting it to set sales on fire??

Awaiting Nano CNG, Indigo CNG test drive

The Nano CNG has been around a while with not a whisper about its driven experience[confused]- apparently sales are hot,but is that because only few were made
They have yet to hit showrooms in TN,but i'm sure some of the TAI family must have had a test drive.
Not sure if the indigo CNG will get past some airports as Taxi-CNG is still a 'rare' fuel in most parts of Bharath

Well as the nano experience happened with the initial batches this would surely takes it time for people to accept it as well as for the company to get the feedback for the numbers sold and complaints, issues and then after it may see the sales numbers happening.
Hope they have done the necessary testings before launching this variant.

Drove the nano CNG today , fun little cute car , there was no dip in the pickup or anything , and the conversion from petrol to CNG is very seamless . It still amazes how much spacious this car is .
But the clatter from engine was heard inside . Fit and finish seems to be decent for the price asked .
