In lockdown i have not started nano for 10 days & battery is 4.6 year old & car denied to start. So now going to mechanic or battery shop is also not safe so think to try battery charger that i have purchased to charge activa battery, in overnight charging it charged battery 11.5v to 12.6v from & now nano starting perfectly.

Due to Covid-19 issue i decided to not to visit service center for nano servicing & to do it at home. I have purchased shell HX5 MGP engine oil from Maruti Gunine parts shope when go for servicing of my Dzire (its a minor service for dzire & 1st time i have decided to go at local mechanic instead of authorized service center due to safety issue for Covid-19, all parts are purchased from Alva moters, MGP supplier & mechanic not allowed to enter in car cabin, only outside cabin job for him ).

Parts purchased for Nano
1. Shell HX5 3 Liter - Rs 940
2. Oil filter Rs 120
3. TATA genuine air filter - Rs 171
4. Coolant Golder cruser Blue 3 Liter - Rs 450
5. 2 Spark Plugs tata genuine parts (champion make) - Rs 174 (Not replaced yet as old run only 6K kms & in good condition)
6. Cabin AC filter, TATA genuine - Rs 134
7. Throttle body cleaner - Rs 120

total cost :- Rs 2109/-

I try to open oil filter first after removing rear seat & engine cover, its the most difficult job in Nano, i try for one hour but not succeed as oil filter is tighten very hard. i have started car & reached local mechanic that is 200mtr from home & ask for filter& engine oil change. he ask rs 200 for job & i agreed. it take healthy 1 full hour of him with some special tools to open oil filter. He says that TASS may never changed it that's why its not opening. finally he manage to open it & replaced oil filter & engine oil. i paid him 250 (i think he deserve to get 50 extra due to lot of work ).

Now i have again reached home & started removing coolant from radiator bottom. Now its time to get surprised as there is water instead of coolant & my car always serviced & repaired & TASS so its easy to understand who did this. i have flushed radiator & coolant reservoir bottle 3 times & also started engine few times so that all water that i am pouring in radiator will move & remove any deposited slug. Added new coolant, clean spark plugs, clean throttle body, replaced air filter, clean engine with soft brush without any water as it looks so dirty that it may never cleaned.Check all wheels for any possible oil leak, check brake oil level, gear box oil not checked as its changed on last service. Open read boot cover to check bumper & found its broken from where nuths hold it. i have used large size washer to hold larger area & its fixed properly, may after few moths i will get it repaired from some professional shop but as of now it looks good to work without any issue.

All this take 3 hours (that i have to waste in watching tv if not do this work) & nano is ready for drive. i have driven it for 3-4 kms & it runs very smooth without any rpm fluctuation or misfire. not added rear seat.

On Sunday morning i have removed all seat covers & put in washing machine for washing. removed all floor mats, wash rubber mats & do vacuum cleaning for floor carpet & mats. By the end of day i have installed everything back, seat cover & also rear seat in car. Now go for a drive of 10 km with AC on, car smell fresh in cabin & young from engine, it put a smile on my face.
All in all its my first experience of servicing my car & its good to do this job at home.

When radiator get replaced TASS mechanic removed these two zip tie locks & not added on new, just checked & added it myself.

Lot of dust on engine, as it take time to open engine cover & cleaning is done only after few months.
