Tata Motors recently rolled out the 50,000th electric vehicle, a Nexon EV, from its Pune facility in Maharashtra. Now, the same has been delivered to Tata Group’s Chairman, N Chandrasekaran. The company announced it on its social media platforms captioning it as a special delivery for everyone at Tata Motors.

Tata Motors ventured into the passenger vehicle electric mobility segment with the Nexon EV in January 2020 and it was an instant hit. Over the years, it launched several electric vehicles with varied body shapes across different price segments. The company’s current EV portfolio includes the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV Prime and the Nexon EV Max.

According to Tata Motors, while its new products are developed to cater to evolving customer needs, the company offers OTA (over-the-air) software updates to existing EV customers to enhance their experience. The Tata Nexon EV Prime is currently priced from Rs 14.99 lakh to Rs 17.50 lakh while the Nexon EV Max retails from Rs 18.34 lakh to Rs 20.04 lakh, ex-showroom.

Now, in December 2022, Tata Motors has outperformed at 40,043 units in the domestic market. Hyundai sold 38,831 units during the last month of the year.
TATA Motors has again overtaken Hyundai for the third time in 2022 for the the second spot! The constant and consistent challenge TATA has thrown out has kept Hyundai on the toes. With new car launches, esp EVs lined up this year should seal the second spot in favour of TATAs . For the moment, TATA has no new cars in the pipeline in ICE segment in the near future except some upgrades and facelifts.

With more electric vehicles in the lineup TATA has more steam.
Let's see what TATA has to show this AUTOEXPO. What should be the show stopper this time?

Tata Motors reaches new Milestone, Crosses 50 lakh Passenger vehicle Production mark

Tata-5-Million-Cars-Milestone.jpg

On Friday, Tata Motors announced that it has reached the production milestone of 50 lakh total passenger vehicles. In 2004 and 2010, the automaker reached the milestone of 10 lakh units produced. In 2015, it reached 30 lakh units, and in 2020, 40 lakh units.

"This journey, from each million to the next, has been one replete with its fair share of ups and downs," Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Managing Director Shailesh Chandra said in a statement.

The company noted that it was able to stride ahead from 40 lakh cars to 50 lakh units within three years, despite COVID-19 and the semiconductor shortage crisis that plagued the global automotive industry.

To celebrate the 5-million production milestone, Tata Motors will roll out a celebratory campaign for customers and employees across the country. The company said it will have month-long celebrations across its manufacturing locations and regional offices.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Sales: April 2023

View attachment 310207
Tata motors used to do quite well in the PV international market. Now it has literally disappeared from the international market. It has withdrawn from Europe, Africa and Australia. Now except for SAARC nations, they have halted exports. They only concentrate in the CV segment now.

Do they think that their products are inferior in the international market or they now only plan international foray with electric cars?

Don't know what cooking in their minds. Someone needs to ask them.

Tata’s twin CNG tanks to come to the Tiago, Tigor

20230609042914_Tata Tiago CNG.jpg

Tata Motors recently launched the Altroz iCNG, with prices ranging from Rs 7.55 lakh to Rs 10.55 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with the fact that it’s offered in multiple trim levels, including a top-spec one with a sunroof, another big selling point is the packaging of the CNG tanks under the boot floor. This unique CNG set-up will soon find its way to other Tata models, namely the Tiago and Tigor.

  1. Twin CNG tanks placed under the boot floor, frees up boot space
  2. The unique set-up will also feature in upcoming Punch iCNG
Tata Tiago, Tigor to get twin-cylinder CNG tanks

Instead of the usual single, large cylinder in the boot, which renders the space useless, Tata has split the CNG tank in the Altroz iCNG into two and packaged it under the boot floor, which liberates a considerable 210 litres of boot space. The company says the ALFA platform that the Altroz is based on was always designed with this set-up in mind.
