no its not the copy paste job, but the buzz is that TATA will have something which is a lookalike of EVOQUE. I mean that's what i have heard. heres the news
New Tata compact SUV to look like a mini Evoque

SCOOP! New Tata compact SUV to look like a mini Evoque | Car News | Budget SUVs | Autocar India

Mechanically, the X104 will also see the debut of Tata’s 1.5-litre diesel motor that develops a good 110bhp, and a new six-speed manual gearbox designed to handle the extra power and torque. Sources say that despite the engine’s power advantage over rivals such as the EcoSport, the motor will not sacrifice fuel economy. There will be a petrol version as well powered by Tata’s in-house developed, 1.2-litre motor. This all-aluminum, three-cylinder engine is expected to produce around 75bhp and has been designed to be quiet and refined.
Common..[evil] This is about Nexon C-SUV and not about Q501/Q502.

And about the scoop. That was ridiculous to say the least. What are they trying to prove? TML-JLR will do badge engineering?[frustration]

Looks like some people will never learn from their past.
Already tata is in quicksand sinking deeper. And now they are planning to release hexa and other new launches over a time frame say 2-3 years?? By then it will be aged even before it launches.

Tata appears pleased with the Disco Sport’s design, reports suggests a budget-priced version is on the cards; wearing Tata badges.

The Tata Hexa concept from the Geneva Motor Show has been morphed onto the base of the Discovery Sport, giving the combined models the same stance as the Land Rover.

The report predicted such an outcome from the model-sharing project, but styling for the Tata version when and if it hits the road is believed to be vastly different from the Land Rover
A 2017 release date has been suggested, but whether the new Tata model - codenamed Q501 - would be offered outside the Indian market is unclear at this stage.

Tata Motors Suv's Q501/502, which are also coded as Kestrel and Goshawk

Goshawk is the larger seven-seater SUV that will be coming with a 2.0-litre multijet engine and will be the new flagship model for the Tata range. This will be placed above the currently sold Safari and will compete with Mahindra's XUV 5OO.

Kestrel, which will be a five-seater SUV. This will be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine. This will also be a multijet engine, which Fiat is at the moment developing for the Indian car market at the moment. This will be direct competition to the Renault Duster, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki ACross and the Hyundai ix25. It shall come with features like dual airbags, touch-screen Harman infotainment system etc.

Both the vehicles are due to be launched in late 2017.

Discovery Sport-based Tata Q501 exported to US for testing

A Team-BHP fan shared this information.

Tata Motors has been working on a flagship SUV, based on the Land Rover Discover Sport. Codenamed the Q501, this new SUV is expected to be launched in 2018. Tata Motors has now exported a few prototypes of the Q501 to the United States for testing purposes.

Powering the Tata Q501 will be a 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine from Fiat that is expected to develop around 170 BHP. This engine is likely to be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. The entry-level variants are expected to come with a two-wheel drive setup, while one or two top-end trims will come with an all-wheel drive system.

With the new Q501 SUV, Tata is planning to rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

I do not understand why TATA is so late in every segment, even though TATA is said to be the biggest automotive in ASIA. The another part that TATA is not able to prove its ability to produce variety of engines in passenger segment for its own vehicle.

TATA is such a big empire, to produce everything they want for their own, still they are dependent of companies like FIAT.

A recent comment on the TBHP thread states that the engine number says that the engine is not that big capacity. It is expected to be a 1.5L.

This is not the first appearance of Q501 on Zauba's site. TATA has already exported two models without engines and packed in wooden boxes. One was sent on 7th march and Another in 15th of same month. They were packed destined for TURIN, ITALY. Maybe these are the prototype chassis for rigidity and strength revaluation. Or maybe they have got the engines installed there as they can source the engines and gearbox there locally.
