I just learned how to drive a car. Will it be fine to buy a Ford Freestyle 2020 1.5 TDI? I am getting it for 5.3L. Is it a driver friendly car? If not, what are some good options?
Or should I go with Polo 1ltr MPI 2019 at 3.9L. Which will be more practical ? Ford service center is only 3km from my location. Note - I am married

Hi,
The Ford Freestyle is a good multi-purpose car. The 1.5tdi (PSA) engine is very versatile, it has very good torque for pulling away and has good economy travelling at highway speeds. Although Ford have pulled out of India, more independent garages and parts supplies will provide support and gain experience. There will continue to be support of one form or another for years to come. There is money to be made selling spare parts for Ford cars in India, someone will fill the gap.
The 1.5tdi engine is made by PSA, they have also been used by Peugeot, Citroen, Volvo and BMW in the Mini. PSA engines are also used by Suzuki.
I have a 2009 Mini Cooper D with the 1.5 PSA engine and it has covered over 268,000 kms. Just use the correct engine oil and change oil/filter every 8,000 Kms.
Driven sympathetically the Mini easily achieves 25 to 30 km/l.
