KIA motors has registered the name CARENS. Is it for the new MPV.

Kia’s new MPV is expected to debut in India early next year. It will be available in both 6-seat and 7-seat configuration. It will primarily rival Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6, which collectively command the largest market share in MPV segment.

Kia KY (Carens) interior: First pictures ahead of December 16 unveil

20211123111150_Kia_KY_interior_1.jpg

The upcoming Kia KY three-row vehicle has been spotted undergoing final round of testing almost every day. While there are a barrage of spy shots of the exteriors, we’ve finally got our hands on a fresh set of pictures today that give us a glimpse of the interior of the upcoming Kia KY.

Fresh interior pictures reveal that the Kia KY will sport unique dashboard layout and, contrary to earlier speculations, will not have the same dashboard as the Seltos. The Kia KY (Carens) dashboard layout is much bigger and extends a bit further towards the front windshield, thanks to a slight cab-forward design typically seen in people movers.

Kia Christens Upcoming KY Three-Row MPV As 'Carens

Kia India is all set to introduce its fourth model in the country and the automaker has now confirmed that the upcoming KY three-row MPV will be christened the 'Kia Carens.' A lot of our readers would already know about this since a few spy shots that emerged last month confirmed the name. The Carens name actually is from Kia's global line-up and was originally a compact MPV first launched in 1999 and was on sale until 2018 across several markets. While that model has been discontinued, the name is now being revived in India. The all-new Kia Carens will be based on the Seltos compact SUV and will compete with the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and the likes.

Kia Carens Three-Row MPV Makes Global Debut In India

dlbj3rl8_kia-carens_625x300_16_December_21.jpg

The Kia Carens has finally broken cover. Now the Carens name isn't new for Kia. The company used to sell a compact MPV named Carens in Korea between 1999 and 2018, however, globally it was more popularly known as Kia Rondo. The company has revived the Carens name again and India is the first market to get it. The Kia Carens is targeted at modern Indian families and so it has a fairly long footprint, a straight roofline and an upright stance for that quintessential MPV appeal.

With edgy character lines and rich volume within its bold side profile, the design of the Carens results in a sporty yet sophisticated combination. The modern and high-tech design of the Carens is aimed at millennials, with eye-catching characteristics and unique aesthetics. The front shows a sporty and stable stance with high-tech details. The DRL in the headlamps is designed based on Kia’s new signature lighting concept – ‘The Star Map’. The horizontal chrome garnish in the upper grille and the frame-type chrome garnish in the lower bumper creates an impressive tiger face. SUV-like side profile, high frontend with a pushed back A-pillar, and a straight roofline with optimum ground clearance makes it a capable recreational vehicle.

While the car looks sleek and dynamic with its slim DLO graphic, it also offers generous headroom as a multi-seater vehicle. At the rear, the combination lamp on the robust sections makes the Carens look wide and strong. The Star Map LED gives it a high-tech feel, and the three-dimensional chrome garnish adds to its sporty looks. Three new colours have been introduced on the Kia Carens – the mysterious Imperial Blue inspired by Azurite minerals; a low saturation Moss Brown for a unique look; and Sparkling Silver with metal particles that gives the paint a sense of vitality.

The interior of the Kia Carens is based on the design pillar – ‘Joy for reason’ - which creates happiness through a combination of a warm and relaxing aesthetic. On the Kia Carens, these elements feel combined thanks to plenty of thoughtful styling details. In this respect, extensive research was undertaken by Kia on the lifestyle and requirements of Indian families.
