The Face-lift of Skoda Superb had been launched in 2014. Since the launch I never got a chance to drive it as either I was busy with my commitments or either would be traveling to Mumbai. However, today, got the opportunity to take a Test Drive as I told dad that since we are planning to upgrade to a new car in near future so why not go in for something that is comfortable, luxurious to the core and can fit me and him easily. Thus, paid a visit to JAI Auto Mathura Road, New Delhi and took the test drive of the Petrol AT (TSI) that is having a 1.8L, 4 Cylinder Engine. I really enjoyed the overall performance of the petrol engine as it did not appear to be sluggish. The responsiveness was really good and the pickup was also decent but while driving one can easily feel that he/she is not driving a Sedan rather its like controlling a big ship in the sea. The front of the car is really long but thanks to front parking sensors which help in maintaining adequate distance from the vehicles in front.
Knowing well that this model of Skoda Superb shall be obsolete by next year when the recently unveiled Skoda Superb shall make its way to the market. To be honest, this present design stands no where in front of the new Skoda Superb. Coming back to this version, the present Skoda Superb boasts of exemplary comfort and sheer luxury which probably one may find in cars above 45-50 Lac mark. I was shocked to learn that Skoda Superb's on road price in Delhi is around 25 Lac. The cabin feels so big and spacious that one feels like sitting in a limo.
The seating comfort is actually superlative. The plush rear seats make you feel cuddled and feels like traveling business class. One thing that I found was that the rear seat's width was a tad less and I don't think in this way we can say that Superb is a 5 seater. The center console in the rear does provide the ease of having accessories like Cup Holder and does give an uber luxurious feel. The rear center console also have good open-able storage space too which can be used to your gadgets in place while traveling but the width of the console takes up too much of space in which at-least a child could sit.

Have a look at the sheer length of this car! Its indeed massive but what made me have a good laugh was that unlike many cars of this size would have a big elevated FM antenna on the roof but Superb as true to its name had a small size antenna which gelled well with the overall look. The elegance of the Superb is further enhanced with the chrome molding on the windows and the awesome looking Black pillars.
