Skoda Auto Introduces Four Year Maintenance Package For The Slavia At ₹ 24,999

The all-new Skoda Slavia is all set to hit the Indian roads on February 28 and is one of the most anticipated launches from the house of Skoda Auto India. Ahead of the launch, Skoda has also announced introducing a four-year maintenance package for the new Slavia sedan priced at ₹ 24,999. The carmaker has also shared that the overall cost of ownership with the package will be just 0.46 paise per km which will include the cost of spare parts, cost of engine oil and the cost of labour.

Skoda Slavia 1-litre Petrol Launched In India, Prices Begin At ₹ 10.69 Lakh

Skoda Auto India launched the all-new Skoda Slavia 1.0L TSI sedan starting at ₹ 10.69 lakh and going up to ₹ 15.39 lakh for the top-spec trim. Available in three variants- Active, Ambition, and Style, with two transmission options, the new Skoda Slavia is developed on the MQB-A0-IN platform like the Skoda Kushaq SUV that was launched in 2021. The Skoda Slavia will rival the likes of the Honda City, and Hyundai Verna in the market, as well as its upcoming sibling, the Volkswagen Virtus once it goes on sale in the coming weeks. Deliveries for the Skoda Slavia 1.0L TSI sedan will commence from today. Skoda Auto India will reveal the prices for the Skoda Slavia 1.5-litre TSI version on March 3, 2022.

Skoda Slavia 1.0L TSI Prices (ex-showroom, India)

In terms of dimensions, the Skoda Slavia is the widest, tallest, and the longest in the mid-size sedan segment, as it measures 1,752 mm in width, 1,507 mm in height, and sits on a wheelbase of 2,651 mm, offering enough space for rear passengers as well. The Skoda Slavia also leads its class in terms of boot space with a capacity of 521 litres. With the rear seats folded this expands to 1050 litres. Besides, it has a ground clearance of 179 mm. IN terms of the exterior colour schemes, the Skoda Slavia comes wrapped in Crystal Blue, Tornado Red, Candy White, Brilliant Silver, and Carbon Steel.

Under the hood, the Slavia 1.0L TSI develops 113 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque, and it comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed automatic torque converter. Visually, the Slavia comes with Skoda's signature butterfly grille with vertical slats and thick chrome borders, LED headlamps with LED DRLs, and sporty multi-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the infotainment system will be offered as standard, and the top-end Style trim will also get My Skoda Connect mobile online services. As for safety, the car gets up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBS, ESC, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking camera and sensors, and more.

Skoda has commenced the test drives and deliveries of Slavia. It’s available in three variants: Active, Ambition and Style.

Skoda Slavia will be available with 1.0L TSi and 1.5L TSi engine options. The 1.0L TSi (3-cyl) delivers 115 PS and 178 Nm torque. It has a choice of 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT (torque-converter).

The claimed mileage (1.0L TSi) is 19.47 Kmpl. It can do 0-100 Kmph in 10.7 seconds. Full details on 1.5L TSi variant will be revealed on 3rd March 2022.

There’s 4-Year or 1 Lakh Kms standard warranty along with additional maintenance packages. Exterior color options are: Crystal Blue, Tornado Red (India Exclusive), Candy White, Brilliant Silver & Carbon Steel.

The SLAVIA 1.0 TSI will be available in three variants with an option of two transmissions and tops out at ₹ 15.39 lacs for the fully-loaded Style variant with the six-speed torque converter automatic and sunroof option. A six-speed manual gearbox will also be available in the SLAVIA 1.0 TSI across all variants offering outstanding value and maintaining ŠKODA’s legacy of providing world class sedans for over 20 years in India.

Developed on the Made-for-India MQB-A0-IN platform like the KUSHAQ SUV that was launched in 2021, the all new SLAVIA 1.0 TSI is powered by a 1-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. It sends 85 kW (115 Ps) of power and 178 Nm of torque to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The TSI engine is rated for a fuel efficiency of up to 19.47 km/l and can accelerate to a 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds.

The SLAVIA is a perfect culmination offering varied segment best features. At 1752 mm, the ŠKODA SLAVIA is the widest car in the premium mid-size sedan segment. At 1507 mm, the SLAVIA is also the tallest in its class. With a wheelbase that stretches to 2651 mm -- again, the longest in its segment -- the SLAVIA sedan promises utmost head, shoulder and legroom offering capacious accommodation for five adults. The SLAVIA also leads its class in terms of boot space with a capacity of 521 litres. With the rear seats folded this expands to 1050 litres. Besides, with a ground clearance of 179 mm, which is again segment-busting, the SLAVIA easily surmounts challenges of an Indian road.

The SLAVIA 1.0 TSI comes with a bevy of safety features including up to 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Differential System for enhanced traction under cornering, and Multi Collision Brake prevents potential follow-on collisions in case of an accident and brings the car to a halt in a gradual, safe manner. Other features like parking sensors, automatic brake disc cleaning function, rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring, Hill-Hold Control, Cruise Control, auto headlamps and wipers are also available. Enhancing safety for younger passengers are ISOFIX anchors and tether point anchors on the roof for child seats.

The front is accentuated with a dashboard lined with circular AC vents across. The touchscreen has a design element running under it serving two purposes. It is a reflection of the ŠKODA grille outside and also acts as a rest for the wrist making it ergonomic, convenient and safe for the user to operate the touchscreen. Taking center-stage in the dash is a 25.4 cms (10-inch) advanced touchscreen with ability to download ŠKODA Play apps, wireless SmartLink and ŠKODA Connect for all infotainment and navigation needs. For added benefit for the driver, the SLAVIA comes equipped with 20.32cm (8-inch) colored programmable digital cockpit. For the rear passengers with dual AC vents and dual USB ports to charge personal devices are available

The SLAVIA 1.0 TSI comes with a 4-year/100,000kms warranty as standard. In addition, customers can choose from various maintenance packages under ŠKODA AUTO India’s ‘Peace of Mind’ programme. The ownership costs are further kept in check with up to 95% localisation ensuring most parts and components are locally made and replacements are affordable and readily available.

The SLAVIA will be available with variety of color choice as option: a sedan exclusive of Crystal Blue, the Tornado Red exclusive to India, Candy White, Brilliant Silver and Carbon Steel.

The ŠKODA SLAVIA will also be available with a 1.5 TSI engine, which makes the sedan a completely different beast. Details of which will be revealed on March 3, 2022.

Skoda Slavia 1.5-litre TSI Launched In India; Prices Begin At ₹ 16.19 Lakh

Czech carmaker Skoda has launched the 1.5-litre TSI version of the new Slavia in India, with prices starting from Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom). This 1.5-litre TSI model is exclusively available in the range-topping Style variant of the sedan and can be mated to manual or DSG automatic gearbox.

The Slavia’s interior features a dual-tone colour scheme with premium seat upholstery. What’s more, the cabin gets an eight-inch digital driver display, ten-inch touchscreen infotainment that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electric sunroof, front cooled seats, USB Type-C ports, ambient lighting, and a two-spoke steering wheel. Meanwhile, Skoda has also bestowed Slavia with six airbags, traction control, an electronic stability program, and TPMS.

Under the bonnet, it comes equipped with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of making 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. This motor can be coupled to a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. More importantly, it features cylinder deactivation technology. Apart from that, the Slavia also comes powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 113bhp and 178Nm.

Skoda Slavia has added the much needed excitement in mid-size sedan segment which is lately overshadowed by SUVs. Pricing for 1.5L TSi is steeper than what I expected but overall Slavia seems like a delightful package for the enthusiasts and comfort-oriented consumers alike. Hope VW replicates something similar with Virtus so that petrolheads in the market for sedans can have a reason to rejoice after a long time.

Skoda claims that service cost for Slavia starts at ₹0.46 per kilometer. It’s calculated over a duration of 5-Years or 75,000 Kms (whichever occurs earlier). There are also Škoda Supercare packages starting at ₹24,499 which cover various limited and extended wear and tear items under predefined maintenance and cost to offer price-protection. Standard warranty is 4-Years / 1,00,000 Kms with an option to extend to 5 or 6-Years / 1,50,000 Kms.
