Here is the right time to buy used premium petrol cars. With sky rocketing petrol prices, there are plenty of petrol cars in used vehicle market, especially the premium and luxury sedans.

One who is looking for a second car, may be a fun to drive one or a weekend car, with his budget may go for a used petrol car atleast 2 segments higher than a new one.

With a budget less than 7 lakhs one could easily get a well maintained D segment petrol car now. Here are some approximate prices, starting with my favorite brand

1) Honda Accord
4~5L for 2006+ models
2~3L for 2003+ models

2) Honda Civic
5~6L for 2007+ models

3) Honda CRV
5~7L for 2006 models

4) Toyota Corolla
3~4L for 2004+ models
5~6L for Altis

5) Toyota Camry
5~6L for 2005+ models

6) Skoda Laura
5~6L for 2007+ models

7) VW Jetta
5~7L for 2007+ models

8) Suzuki GV
5~7L for 2007+ models

9) Hyundai Sonata
3~4L for Embera
5~7L for Transform

How abt Ford cars, it don't have any resale value.??
Since this thread is targeting only on premium segments, I didn't mention about Ford cars (which doesn't have any premium petrol vehicles)

In general Ford petrol cars are available at throw away prices

I think, people should grab this opportunity of owning these premium beauty and can use them for weekends or pure show off.

OT: Someone was saying that Tata and Maruti are giving 50K discount on petrol cars now (new). Others would follow soon.

Are you sure about Jetta & Accord prices ?? Looks a steal to me.
Dude, yes ofcourse. Have a look at few examples from Carwale here

Regarding Jetta, sorry I couldn't grab that ad, may be the car was already sold.
2007 Jetta in chennai for 7L. Negotiation could bring down to 6.5L
