Update: More snaps added in Page2

Ownership review of Pre-loved 2006 Ford Fiesta 1.6 SXi on behalf of my friend.

Here is the start.

Details of the car
Make - Ford
Model - Fiesta
Variant - 1.6 SXi (ABS)
Year - 2005 manufactures 2006 registered
No. of owners - 1
Mileage - 45k
Color - Platinum

More details were available in the above mentioned Automotive shopper thread. Finalised the deal for 2.43L (without Insurance)

Initial Experience
Paid the amount this morning and taken delivery of the car after all formalities. Taken to temple for Pooja. Driven more than 100km today. Some feedback in particular to this car.

Pros:
1) Acceleration: No words, it is at par with my NHC vtec.
2) Steering: Good for 100kmph speeds. Gives more confidence
3) Gear Shift: I feel it is better than the diesel variant (please correct me if I'm wrong)
4) ICE: Comes with 6 CD changer. Sound quality is more than sufficient
5) Stability: I have driven at 140kmph and I could feel that the car is 100% in my control

Cons:
1) Rattle: Almost all doors rattle for each and every pothole
2) Suspension: Bushes needs replacement (may be the steering ball joints too)
3) Tyres: almost bald (will change then after servicing)
4) Horn: Not sufficient for highway drives

Sorry guys, no snaps taken as of now. Will post detailed snaps tomorrow morning.

That is one gem of a engine.
build like a tank.

bald tyres and single owner means , almost all replacable things should be done like bushes , ball joints , tie rod ends , brakes etc and fuel filters and other filters. and at end new tyres .

do not too much on rattling issues. just fix them when ever possible.

Price seems justified if body line is fine too.

Yes Ilango. All these parts need replacement I guess. Anyways, car is with me and will be with me for next 1 week. Let me use it for a week and check if anything else needs replacement.

Bodyline is perfect. No sign of rust even in the hidden areas

Guys, is it possible to leather wrap the steering wheel again? (same OE look)
If yes, please do share some pointers where we can get it done in Chennai.

Thanks in advance.

Congrats Mr. Boss, you found a really good ride for your friend.

As for leather wrapping, yes, it can be done. Try the Stanley outlet if you have one in Chennai.

looking good man

this makes me buy it for my dad

leather seats ? what models gets them?
Thanks man.
If you prefer petrol, either Honda City or Fiesta 1.6 is best choice (Fun to drive factor)
These are art leather kind of thing, comes with SXi variant (not sure about EXi & ZXi variants)

oh okay thanks for tellin me bro

man I personally like petrol cars . Up here I don't care about petrol prices I use the most expensive one anyways . but my dad might not be able to cope up with it. Even If am going to buy a car for him he'll still think twice.

Mr. Boss your now confusing me I was narrowing it down to two cars Skoda and fiesta now you added city too [:D]

Well maintained with the Chill Metallic color this car won't have any scratch visible.
Fuel efficiency should have been better with 11 can't accept it for all times.

Congrats on your Fiesta !
Exteriors of the car seems to be good and I feel it to be maintained well.
Interior snaps says the car needs a thorough interior cleaning. Do change the steering wheel covers.
Wishing you Happy Miles with your Fiesta !

As you are moving from a Honda City to Fiesta 1.6 we expect a comprehensive review on the performance of both !
How do you feel ? Which one do you feel more good with ? City or Fiesta ?
