Re: Renault Scala is Rebadged Nissan Sunny - Debuts in 2012

Buy a Sunny & then from CB collection (Chor Bazaar), get Renault logo for Rs.60/piece. And whoa, you have saved 65k. [lol]
I think there is one more criteria that would be buying factor for most of us.

Would one like to go with Japanese (Nissan) or French (Renault). [lol]

[lol] All Experts are here only....So why others fools are appreciating "Scala", take a look [lol]-

**** Review -"Better looking than the Nissan Sunny. Scala's design is more mature"
Gaadi.com Review

EXCLUSIVE : New Renault Scala – road test review - Gaadi.com

Overall, the Renault Scala definitely looks upmarket and premium and the looks will surely justify its premium tag which will be higher than the Sunny’s sticker price. Worthy of a mention is the fact that alloy wheels are standard across all diesel variants here – the design is same as the Pulse’s alloys.

Renault Scala, Renault Scala Price, Review, Renault Scala Diesel Mileage | CarDekho India

2+2 years or 80,000 kilometers warranty along with a labour servicing three times at regular intervals as well. To further bolster this effort of after sales service, Renault India is also giving its cars a 24/7 road side assistance, which will certainly be a shot in the arm for the company.
ZIGWHEEL review -Renault Scala: First Drive Page - 1| ZigWheels.com

The Renault Scala shares everything with the Nissan Sunny (Nissan Sunny : First Drive), but to differentiate the two, Renault has reworked the car with what they like to refer to as a little French flair. The large headlights have a smoked look, the front bumper and grille have been revised and resemble that of the Pulse hatchback, the rear sports Skoda inspired tail lights and a neat chrome strip which actually does visually lighten up the back. The Scala also comes with alloy wheels as standard fitment, which does its part in enhancing the Scala’s exterior appeal. Overall the exterior treatment is rather basic and you really wish that Renault had done a bit more to make the Scala significantly different from the Sunny. However the changes do stand out enough to make the Scala the better looking car of the two, so at least Renault managed to achieve that aspect.
Carwale Review - Renault Scala - A Review on Renault Scala by Kl Giridhar - CarWalel

Exterior Very nicely crafted. the redesigned tail lamps are very nice. the crome strip that enters the tail lamps is excellent. the front end is also very pleasing. The side view of the car is very excellent. it gives the feeling of a rich car like the merc c class.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) There is no exemption for space. it comes with a keyless start stop system. the seats though come wrapped in leather. there is lots of space at the front and acres of legroom at the rear. auto matic climate control, ABS, ESP, EBD across the range and and also gets equipped with twin air bags.
More Reviews-

Business Line : Smartbuy / Automobiles : Renault Scala Review

Scala seems to actually lend more character and individuality to the new Renault sedan compared to its Nissan twin. ....Scala headlamps also gives out a new vibe to the onlooker. .....The rear of the new Scala is the most distinctive and though all the familiarity is there in plain view, the changes that have been made give it a stronger character than the Sunny’s.....Overall, the Scala’s rear design also makes it look more squat and wide

Renault Scala AT (petrol) launches in two variants

Renault India has launched the Scala CVT in India but we’re not told the prices. The press release that came in this afternoon says the Scala AT will be available in RXL and RXZ petrol variants. There is no mention of these new variants on the official website.
The Scala AT is equipped with the X-tronic transmission system that lends it a class-leading fuel efficiency of 17.97 kmpl (ARAI certified).

The Scala AT is powered by a 1.5L petrol engine that puts out 74KW (100.6hp) @ 5,600 rpm (compared to MT variant delivering the same power at 6,000 rpm) and 134Nm @ 4,000 rpm The AT is targeted at the customer who mostly finds himself in stop-and-go traffic.
However Renault is not launching the Scala in a rapidly growing segment. The share of automatic transmission variants in the C segment is just 6%, Renault explains. The Scala has managed to earn 8% market share in December, with 3,000 units sold in 4 months that its been on the market.

The X-tronic CVT offers the world’s highest transmission ratio, broader than a 7-speed automatic transmissions, according to Renault India. Compared to a conventional CVT, the X-tronic CVT transmission produces around 30% less friction and is 10% smaller as well as 13% lighter. The heavy footfalls at Renault dealership from to the success of the Duster could help the Scala AT garner some attention, but there’s no doubt on our minds that the Duster would be the volume spinner for Renault in 2013. With Renault done announcing the AT variant, its probably only a matter of time now before Nissan launches the Sunny CVT.

Scoop: Renault silently launches RxE diesel variant of Scala sedan for Rs 8.29 lakh

Renault India has silently launched a base diesel RxE variant of its Scala Sedan for Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Although Renault India has not updated the features on its official website but we believe that the RxE diesel has the trim level and features as the base RxE petrol. It is Rs 50, 000 lesser than the mid-level RxL diesel variant.
The RxE variant as compared to RxL variant gets only one airbag, AC, vanity mirror only for the passenger, no rear defogger, and door pockets only on the front seats, internally adjustable mirrors and wheel caps in place of alloy wheels.
The RxE diesel will be powered by the same 1.5-litre k9K diesel mill that sits in the RxL and RxZ variants. It produces 85PS and 200Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via five-speed manual gearbox.

Buddies,

Renault has discontinued some of the variants of it's Scala Sedan sighting low sales.

Renault is reported to be stopping production of the base RxE and automatic variants of the Renault Scala sedan. Only the RxL petrol and diesel variants, along with the top-end RxZ diesel, will be sold.

It's very rare sight that witness Scala in my city,I prefer the Sunny than Scala as it looks like a decent sedan whereas Scala with all those blackish claddings and things looks after-market fittings.

Vishwas, I feel, in this Joint Venture between Nissan and Renault, if we leave aside Duster, then no other Renault Product has picked up if compared to Nissan. You see, Micra has more road presence than Pulse, Sunny is better accepted than Scala. Coming to more Renault products, Fluence is dusted, Lodgy is an average seller in comparison to other MPVs (baring Mobilio) and now with Kwid, I feel until Nissan decides something at par or superior to Kwid, till then Kwid can be a safe bet for Renault. I feel, in re-badg-ed engineering stuff, Renault has faced alot of loss in terms of rolling out good and sustainable products which clearly indicates that the sales of majority of Renault products are not up to the mark.

Scala rxl petrol comes at ex showroom price of 7.70 lacs, i was just comparing it with city and verna petrol. These two offer no airbags/one airbag at even 9 lacs ex showroom.
The car seems to be a vfm ? but seems no one notices.
