Renault’s sub-four metre compact SUV – Renault KIGER has been awarded with the 4-Star Safety Rating for Adult occupant safety by Global NCAP, the foremost global car assessment programme. Launched in early 2021, Renault KIGER is a breakthrough product that has established itself as a Sporty, Smart and Stunning B-SUV in India.

An outcome of a collaboration between the design teams in France and India, Renault KIGER is the third global car to be launched in India first, before it is taken globally. Renault KIGER brings latest tech features to the CMFA+ platform that offers class leading features like Multi-Sense Driving Modes, great roominess, cabin storage and cargo space along with the right balance of performance and efficiency.

For driver & front passenger safety, the Renault KIGER comes equipped with four airbags – front and side along with seatbelts with pre-tensioner and load-limiter (for driver occupant). It also hosts a range of safety features such as ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors, which ensure safety while driving on the road. Additionally, KIGER also features an impact sensing door unlock, speed sending door lock, 60/40 split rear row seat with adjustable headrests and ISOFIX anchorage for child seat.

Renault KIGER offers a host of sporty and muscular elements which make Renault KIGER stand out as a true SUV. On the inside, Renault KIGER’s Smart cabin combines technology, functionality and roominess. Powered by the 1.0L Turbocharged Engine, Renault KIGER offers great performance and driving pleasure along with the best-in-segment fuel efficiency of 20.5 KM/L. The engine has been tested for reliability and durability, and offers the latest technological innovations already featured on Renault’s global range.

Following its successful global launch in early 2021 in India, Renault India began to export KIGER to Nepal and South Africa, where it has already received an overwhelming response since its launch.

Renault Kiger 2022 Model Launched

Renault India has launched the new Kiger 2022 compact SUV at a starting price of Rs 5.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Renault Kiger 2022 comes with a new exterior colour and new upholstery along with new added features. With model year 2022, the Kiger now offered with a new dual-tone Metal Mustard paint scheme with a black roof. The new Renault Kiger 2022 now comes with front skid plate, chrome embellishment on the tailgate, and new body decals. The small SUV rides on new 16-inch wheels with red wheel caps.

Renault had introduced the RXT (O) trim, which was only offered with the 1.0L naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This trim is now also available with the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with both manual and CVT gearboxes.

Inside the cabin, the 2022 Kiger comes equipped with an air purifier as standard across all variants. Renault has also added red inserts on the dashboard and red stitching around the borders. Moreover, it comes with a quilted design pattern on the seats.

The 2022 Kiger is offered with two engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol. While the former is good for 71bhp and 96Nm of torque, the later produces 99bhp of power and 160Nm of torque. Transmission choices includes a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

Renault rolls out 50,000th Kiger from Chennai plant

Renault has announced that its subcompact SUV, the Kiger has crossed the 50,000-unit production milestone. The carmaker had commenced series production of the Kiger in February last year with the milestone unit rolling out of the plant about 16 months later. To mark the milestone Renault has also rolled out a new exterior colour option – Stealth Black - for its subcompact SUV. The option is available on the fully-loaded RxZ and RxT(O) variants.
