Re: Renault may launch Duster at Auto Expo

Well, Duster will be finally coming to India. Yesterday Renault showcased their road map for India which includes 3 New Cars. And the middle one below seems to be the Duster. Just hope they learn something if Koleos is not a hit, and bring the Duster at a competitive price. Anyways, Here's the Koleos Launch Coverage.

Renault looks to have been working very agrressively to mark their presence in the indian markets. The only thing Renault must take of is the pricing which is going to decide the fate of the brand in india.

Renault is sure playoing very aggressive in India. After their divorce with Mahindra they need to establish themselves on their own and their current plans as per the image saying "Renault's Ambition in India" they sure are playing a very calculated game.

duster sure looks good and someone correctly said that it should be priced in territory of scorpio/safari to get some market share.

In the photos I see a 2.0 L variant, are we not getting a 2.0L engine.

Does anybody have interior pictures of Duster?

Re: Renault May Launch Duster at Auto Expo

Renault will launch the Duster with five variants which include a base 1.6-litre petrol at a price of approximately Rs 7 lakh and the 1.5-litre diesel that currently powers the Fluence.

The diesel engine will be available in two states of tune — an entry-level 85bhp version and a top-of-the-line 110bhp variant. The 110bhp motor is the ‘Step 4’ version of the K9K engine.

The Duster is based on the Logan and, in its European guise, has similar interiors to the saloon. The Indian market will get a completely revamped version since Renault is aware that it cannot get away with dull interiors. For example, the power window switches for the rear passengers will be moved from the front dash to the more conventional location on the door pads.

Unlike the Ford EcoSport, the Duster won’t qualify for excise cuts as it is longer than four metres. But you can still expect aggressive pricing in the range of Rs 7-11 lakh. Renault has ambitious plans of selling 50,000 units every year, a part of which will be exports to right-hand-drive markets like the UK.
Renault will unveil the Duster at the Auto Expo next month followed by a launch by mid-2012.

Re: Renault may launch Duster at Auto Expo

1. I think the diesel will be the volumes seller rather than the petrol.
2. Also, what are the dimensions of the Duster?
Diesel will be preferred by Renault too. Eg. Fluence.
The dimensions will be same or slightly bigger than Scorpio.
The price will be between Rs. 7-9l, ex-showroom Mumbai.
However, a 4x4 & auto trans version launch may not happen.
Renault will be more focusing on selling 4x2, diesel manual.

Nope. Duster is a strict five seater. Just like Grand Vitara.
