Red Bull Speed Street 2011, New Delhi - Exclusive Coverage

Last weekend, on Saturday, 1st October 2011, Red Bull and Renault organized another road show in our country after the Vodafone McLaren Road Show which was recently held in Bangalore (Coverage: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...n-mercedes-road-show-nice-road-bangalore.html). It was not for the first time for me that I have attended such an event in Delhi where an exciting Formula-1 car truly thrills off the audience and on-goers when it runs at its full pace on a kilometer stretch of Rajpath. This road show was of course much well organized than what we see in other cities but unfortunately, it did not keep up to the charm if we compare it with the previous similar event which was also organized by Renault at this very same location way back in 2009. In other words - I thoroughly missed the exciting cars like Renault Megane Trophy!

The event kick started off with the Bhangra Dancers followed by special bike stunts by Ghost Riders Group.

Soon a gang of Renault Koleos appeared beautifully running throughout the stretch in a zigzag formation. This was performed by professional rally drivers.

Daniel Riccardio was on the 'hot' seat. Here's his statement:

“It was a proud moment for me to be the first Formula 1 driver to race down the iconic Rajpath. Today’s drive was truly exhilarating especially with the legions of cheering fans who lined up the road. I’ve never seen anything like this before but I’m sure that Red Bull has set millions of pulses racing as India waits for the lights to turn green at the Grand Prix later this month,” Daniel Riccardio said.

F1 bull in India

This past weekend, the Red Bull team once again checked off another exotic and beautiful locale with Red Bull Junior driver, Daniel Ricciardo.

Ricciardo had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to race the Red Bull Running Showcar down the iconic Rajpath, the ceremonial boulevard for the Republic of India, in New Delhi in front of 60,000 fans.
