Ramdara temple is situated around 10 km away from Loni Kalbhor village, off the Pune-Solapur Highway. Ramdara Temple is an old temple which has idols of many deities. The main shrine is that of Shiva along with impressive “Nandi”. This temple also has idols of Ram, Lakshman and Sita. Next to the temple is an ashram of Shri Devipuri Maharaj also known as Dhundi Baba.
We started in morning around 9.00am towards Ramdara. As it was Sunday hence Pune roads were less flooded and we reached out of Hadapsar within 10-20 minutes. Then we took Pune-Solapur road (NH9) to reach towards Ramdara. I was shocked to see few meters of bad stretch from “Ravi Darshan Chowk” in Hadapsar to “Akaswani” on NH9![[frustration]](https://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/images/smilies/Frustration.gif "Frustration [frustration]")
After clearing this bad patch we speeded up and reached toll plaza of Loni where we paid return toll of Rs.38 and after crossing “Hindustan Petroleum” we took right and exited from NH9 into Loni Kalbhor village.
Next we crossed a typical village road of approximate 3 Km, this road was very narrow and bad, it was surrounded by houses, shops, temples, chowks, peoples and number of children’s wandering on road. Though I don’t like to honk much but here I used it at my top.
Out of these numerous small roads we ultimately got that one road which took us directly towards Ramdara. Though this road was also bouncy and bad to some extent but it was surrounded by lush greenery and fields.
After enjoying thick vegetation beside road we entered through the arc of Ramdara. The road goes through narrow bridge and we were now able to see the parking of temple. Please note there is free and ample open parking space under dense shady huge trees where we parked our Grand.
The temple looks like it is in middle of a green oasis because it is surrounded with small pond along with the abundance of dense and huge trees.
The “Sabhamandap” is ornately decorated with walls depicting stories from Hindu mythology.
The huge “Nandi” in the temple is beautifully crafted
The temple is surrounded by pond so there are ample of white geese in this area

When we went behind this temple we could open plateau on our right side
And on our left side there are just trees, trees and trees
The trees in this area attract lot of birds. You can relax beneath these shady trees and listen to various chirping sounds along with cool breeze.
As there is only one vendor outside this temple and he serves nice “mataki bhel”, “vadapav” and tea to the visitors. One can enjoy nature while munching these things, you can also bring your own food and eat it here sitting beside any tree.
Over and all a splendid temple, beautiful and serene place for nirvana just few kilometres away from city chaos where one can spend few hours and get relaxed under shady trees.
