Petrol To Diesel Engine Swap for Maruti Esteem

We have used many cars modified with a diesel engine for eg,
1. We fitted a Trekker engine into a Contessa and used it for 3 to 4 years
2. Allwyn Nissan SD-25 engine over a Standard 2000 which we still own and is in a good running condition with all the accessories working.
3. Then we had a Amby with a Trekker engine.

Those days it was easy to get permission from the RTO authorities as there were very few factory fitted diesel cars and it was worth taking all the effort for the alteration.

Now things have changed and we get diesel versions of almost all the cars sold in India and the engines are also more refined and powerful almost at par with the petrol siblings

Hi I have a Honda city 1.5 exi I want to know whether a diesel engine can be fitted in it or not if yes which engine can be fitted in it.cost of fitting it.cant sell it due to sentimental value of it .

We are safe unless and until something goes wrong. In case of any mishap (sorry being looking at negative view) Insurance goes invalid.

Point here is we should not encourage the illegal practice, isn't it?

Very true Mr. Boss, first its illegal, secondly why take so much hassle and spend a lot of money when he can getting better deal. Also I like your point very much, we should not encourage illegal practice on the forum.

And you're true about the facts of getting into problems with police, insurance etc. incase of any mis-fortune. I would have never recommended this to any friend in any case.

No matter how smart you are if you do something illegal you will land in problems sometime. "Crime never pays!"
