What is Orbital or Dual Action (DA) Polisher ?
A Dual Action polisher is a polishing machine that uses a circular motion combined with a spinning motion to create a rational double action. This motion is useful when polishing a surface by machine. The Dual Action polisher is famed for being easy to work with, making it ideal for beginners.

Advantages of Orbital or DA polisher :

• There is virtually no risk of burning the paint because the pad never rests on one spot long enough for heat to build up.
• User friendly especially for beginners.
• Excellent for swirl removal, light polishing and waxing.
• Since there is not thermal buildup, paint texture will not be affected at all.

Disadvantages of Orbital or DA polisher :

• Cost of equipment is relatively high especially for home use.
• Not effective for removing deep scratches.

Why build a custom Orbital or DA attachment for portable drilling machine ?

• Many of us own an drilling machine at home, an attachment you be much more effective and reduce investment return of drilling machine.
• Since we generally own one or two cars and likely to wax or polish them once a month on average, it's hard to justify cost of a professional DA polisher. Especially to spouses or significant other or parents.
• Can also be used for polishing or waxing other surfaces as well. (Refer Standard material based polishing or waxing guidelines before starting)
• Easier to wax or polish compound curvature and reverse curvature surface since a drilling machine is comparatively small.

Has the attachment been tested ?
Yes i have tested it on 3 cars and 4 motorcycles and 1 scooter. All of the either had gloss finish or metallic finish, yet to try on a matte finish surface.

Cars : Verna 4S - silver - 2016, Ecosport - Smoke Grey - 2016 and Santro Xing - Maharaja Red
Motorcycles : FZ25 - Knight black - 2017, iSmart - Red - 2015, Duke 390 - Orange - 2019, FZ16 - Black - 2013.
Scooter : Honda Activa - White - 2018

Which wax & Polish was used ?
Meguiar's Mirror glaze High Tech Wax & Meguiar's Ultimate Polish

What are the specs of this product ?

• Orbital throw of 5mm.
• Weighty balanced.
• 5" Bosch Sanding plate.
• Black Oxide Coated (for orbital hub and rotar shaft).

What are the advantages of this product ?

• Can be used for clockwise and anticlockwise rotation without risking safety.
• Uses Bosch Sanding plate (velcro type) for easy replacement of polishing or waxing sponge or sanding pad.
• Since it's weight balanced unnecessary vibrations doesn't creep up.

Do you have any more actual working images of surface on which product was used ?
Yup

Below image has "zeke" tint filter of original image. Here you can observe the wax marking and polisher movement.

Below images are taken on a compound curve surface of rear right door.

Wait a minute, there are some product already available on amazon which can be attached to drill machine. Why not used them ?
Yes, those product definitely exists.

• Main problem with them are that many doesn't have orbital or DA function and there is a chance of damaging the paint.
• There are some orbital or DA attachment but they are attached to shaft via a single screw and are meant for either clockwise or anti-clockwise rotation based on screwing direction. Safety will be at risk if used by an novice.

You talk about safety, what did you consider ?
Four safety aspects were considered:

1. Safety of the user : Product uses multiple screws and lock nuts to prevent them from loosening at all.
2. Safety of working surface : Product has Bosch sanding pad which doesn't protrude ant metallic parts. Worst case scenario will; be scratches from velcro if sponge forgotten.
3. Safety of product : Product is weight balanced and coated with black oxide.
4. Environmental safety : Product build using recyclable material. Orbital Hub & rotar is made up of non hardened EN31.Can be reused or recycled if necessary.

Is the product available for sale ?
Yes, since it custom made manufacturing and delivery for single number might take some time. Timeline can be adjusted for multiple orders.

Is the product available online on websites Amazon or Flipkart etc ?
As of now it's exclusive for "The Automtoive India" only.
