Ola Electric has announced its foray into global and local electric-two wheeler markets. The company will soon launch an electric scooter in India. And to push that project forward, Ola Electric acquired an Amsterdam based company called Etergo BV, which is an OEM engaged in manufacturing electric two-wheelers. Etergo is a fairly new company, founded in 2014 and one of its biggest successes was the Appscooter. The scooter has won multiple awards across the world for innovative design and engineering. The Appscooter has a range of 240 km on a single charge and features high energy density batteries.

Ola Electric Receives Over 1 Lakh Reservations For Its Electric Scooter In 24 Hours

Ola Electric has created a record of sorts by receiving over 1 lakh reservations for its first ever electric scooter in less than 24 hours since pre-bookings opened. Interested customers can log on to the company website and book the scooter for ₹ 499.

Customers, who reserve their Ola electric scooter now, will get priority when the deliveries of the scooters begin. The Ola electric scooter is likely to have a range of 100-150 km and get features like removable Lithium-ion battery, digital instrument console, cloud connectivity, alloy wheels, telescopic suspension up front and much more.

Ola Electric Scooter Colours Revealed


Ola Group Chairman and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, recently tweeted about the colour options that the upcoming Ola electric scooter will be offered in. The tweet revealed that the electric scooter will be offered in 10 colours. While the exact names of the colours will be announced at the imminent launch, there will be choices in matte and gloss shades from options in blue and black, the vibrant hues of red, pink and yellow, as well as white and silver.

Ola Electric Scooter set to be eligible for Massive FAME II subsidy of over Rs.50,000

Ola Electric is gearing up for the launch of its maiden electric scooter – rumoured to be named the Ola Series S – in the month of August. While the company has kept mum about the specifics of its first e-scooter, Tech2 has previously revealed the scooter will be sold online directly to buyers and delivered to their homes, and that it will have fixed batteries and an expected range of up to 150 kilometres on a full charge. Now, we can tell you that Ola’s electric scooter will also be eligible for a significant subsidy, upwards of Rs 50,000, under the Centre’s FAME-II scheme.

First scooter roll out

The very first Ola Electric S1 scooter has rolled out from the Ola Futurefactory based in Tamil Nadu. The first e-scooter came out of the factory within six months from the start of building of the phase one of the EV maker's plant. The Ola S1 is all set to be launched in the country later today at 2 pm.

Ola scooter launch now live.

The first product from Ola Electric, their first scooter will be called the S1. There will also be a higher variant of the scooter called as the Ola S1 Pro.

Ola Electric is putting a lot of emphasis on the fact that the Ola S1 Electric Scooter will come in 10 colour options. Here is the complete range.

The Ola S1 Electric Scooter will take 6 hours to charge from a regular home socket. Additionally, the electric scooter can be charged to 50 per cent in just 18 minutes through Ola fast chargers.

Convenient features on the Ola Electric Scooter S1 include the addition of Cruise control which will maintain the set speed be it uphill or downhill.

The Ola Electric Scooter will also come with reverse gear, making it easier to park. It will also come with Hill Hold Assist (HSA) which holds the scooter in place in case you are stopped on an uphill slope.

Different sounds will be made by the Ola Electric Scooter S1 depending on the riding mode that has been selected!

A massive touchscreen will be placed where you usually expect the analogue instrument cluster. It will be powered by MoveOS and will have several display themes which is customisable also.

The Ola S1 Electric Scooter will come with built-in speakers which can be used to play music as well. This speaker also allows the user to take phone calls too.

The Ola Electric Scooter will come with a large boot space which is claimed to be capable of holding two helmets, under the seat.

The Ola S1 Electric Scooter has been priced at Rs 99,999 for the base variant. The Ola S1 Electric Scooter will also have a higher specification variant called the Ola S1 Pro and it has been priced at Rs 1,29,999.

The Ola S1 Electric Scooter has a claimed top speed of 90 km/h and has a claimed range of 121 km on a full charge. Ola Electric claims that the S1 can go from 0-40 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

The higher-spec Ola S1 Electric Scooter, which costs about Rs 30,000 more than the base model Ola S1, has a claimed top speed of 115 km/h and a claimed range of 181 km on a full charge. This claims to be able to do 0-40 km/h in 3 seconds.

Ola Electric has said that the Ola S1 electric scooter will be available for purchase from September 8, 2021 onwards and the deliveries of the scooter will begin from October.

The Ola S1 Electric Scooter will come with an 8.5 kW motor which will be connected to a 3.92 kWh battery - both of which are claimed to be the biggest in the segment by Ola Electric.

The Ola S1 Electric scooter will come with three riding modes on offer - Normal, Sport and Hyper. With Normal mode being the most relaxed one and Hyper mode being the quickest one. The Sport mode will sit in the middle.

Ola Electric will be providing a 750W portable charger along with the Ola S1 Electric Scooter which can be mounted at home, or any such place depending on the buyer's preference, which will take 6 hours to charge the scooter.

The Ola Electric S1 comes with disc brakes both at the front and at the back and gets a mono-shock suspension on both sides as well.
