It is no secret that Ola Electric, soon after the launch of its S1 electric scooter, has been eyeing the Indian electric four wheeler segment which is projected to have an immense potential. It appears that, even as the company is facing several complaints related to the quality, reliability and delivery timeline issues of its S1 scooter, developing activities of the upcoming electric car are proceeding in full swing.

On the sidelines of the ‘Ola Customer Day’ event held at the site of the company’s upcoming facility near Krishnagiri, TN, the EV startup released a teaser video of its upcoming premium electric cars. The 30 second teaser shows teaser of more than one Ola electric car.

Ola Electric Car Teased Again

The CEO of Ola shared a new video teaser for the company’s upcoming electric car. This will be the first model of its kind from the brand and the teaser hints at its design.

This 3-second teaser video shared by Mr Aggarwal reveals the silhouette of the upcoming Ola electric car, and the silhouette itself reveals that the upcoming EV is likely to be very aerodynamic.

Looking at the previously released teaser, the width of the sedan is visually accentuated by the use of full-width LED lighting at both the front and the rear of the car, and as mentioned earlier, the side profile reveals a very aerodynamically efficient design for minimal drag.

Though no teaser has revealed the interior of the Ola electric car, we expect simplicity to take over the cabin of the upcoming Ola electric car. However, we also expect the interior of the upcoming Ola electric car to be packed with technology such as connected car tech, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and much more.

OLA's Mission Electric 2022: CEO Bhavish Aggarwal says its first EV car to arrive in 2024

Bhavish Aggarwal, founder and CEO of homegrown electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Ola Electric, on August 15, at the company's annual event announced the launch of its new Ola S1 scooter along with the new indigenously developed lithium-ion battery and shared Ola's vision for making India a global EV hub. He also shared some new details of its upcoming electric car.

Aggarwal, said, "Over the last year EVs have been at the center of transforming personal mobility. At Ola, we have been at the epicenter of this change, driving adoption, increasing access and affordability. There is much to be achieved yet. Currently, less than 15 per cent Indians own a 2W or a 4W and with India poised for strong economic growth, the Indian automotive industry will witness demand for 20Mn 4Ws and 50Mn 2Ws each year."

Ola's event, named 'Mission Electric 2022,' was streamed on YouTube with pre-recorded footage from its future factory in Tamil Nadu.

"We believe that India needs to become the global epicenter of the EV revolution and command 25 per cent of the world's automotive market. Today, at Ola we are taking Mission Electric to the next level by ensuring we have a roadmap to investment in technology, build scale and bring quality products that India deserves. As we build for India, we will also be creating the EV paradigm for the rest of the world," he added.

Ola Electric teases its upcoming Electric Car, New details revealed

Ola Electric also dropped a teaser for its upcoming electric car. While it's no news that Ola Electric is gearing up to launch several electric cars in India, the latest teaser reveals some new details about the car.

The teaser showed a small glimpse of the interior of the car, showing the steering wheel as well as parts of the dashboard. The steering wheel of the car is different from conventional wheels, and it looks as though it was borrowed from a spaceship. It has a horizontal-rectangular shape with chamfered-off edges, making it octagonal. It also has a two-spoke design, and apart from an embossed ‘OLA’ logo in the middle, it gets backlit buttons which will be used to control a host of features in the car.
