The size of the touchscreen instrument cluster on the S1 variant is 7 inches. Ola says that this is the brightest screen in the segment.

One of the key highlights of the Ola S1 is the fact that the scooter comes with 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The instrument cluster comes with 3 GB of RAM and is powered by an Octa-Core processor.

The Ola S1 Will Be Followed By A More Affordable e-Scooter And A Motorcycle

As part of Ola’s grand ambitions to electrify Indian motoring, the Indian EV startup will have an affordable mass-market e-scooter and an electric motorcycle in its profile in the next few years. Ola has also cited interest in developing its own car and has hired key personnel from the industry for the same as well.

Sticking to the two-wheelers, the next scooter is very likely to use the S1 as its base. One way Ola can save up on costs is by offering a smaller battery and a conservative motor, the two components that rack up the most cost on any electric two-wheeler. Hence, the next e-scooter might not have 181km of ARAI-certified range like the S1 Pro, though it should still deliver at least 100km.

Indian ride-hailing company Ola has received 1 million reservations for its electric scooter, ChiefExecutive Officer Bhavish Aggarwal said on Thursday, with first deliveries on track for Dec. 15.

Aggarwal also said Ola's first electric car will be out in 2023 as the company, backed by Japan's Softbank Group, aims to make India a global electric vehicle hub.

"Our ambitions in electrification are to make India the global electric vehicle hub," Aggarwal told the Reuters Next conference.

Ola, which has a majority share of India's ride-hailing market, where it competes with Uber Technologies , has a growing presence in several global markets such as Australia and Britain.

Founded in 2010 by Aggarwal, Ola plans to raise up to $1 billion through an initial public offering (IPO) in the next few months, joining a slew of Indian start-ups preparing to list.

ed5o1if4_ola-s1-electric-scooter-deliveries-to-begin-from-december-15_625x300_06_December_21.jpg

The Ola Electric scooter, the Ola S1 and the Ola S1 Pro have been one of the most talked-about electric scooters in India. Both the Ola S1 and the Ola S1 Pro, as per Ola Electric, received a tremendous response ever since the bookings for these electric scooters were opened in India. However, post that, the deliveries of the Ola Electric scooters have kept being pushed ahead due to production constraints.
Now, OLA CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has taken to his Twitter handle and has Tweeted that the deliveries of the Ola Electric scooters in India will begin from December 15, 2021. He also thanked the customers who have waited for the deliveries of the scooters to start.

“Scooters are getting ready. Production ramped up and all geared to begin deliveries from 15th Dec. Thank you for your patience!" said Bhavish in his Tweet.

Recently, Ola Electric said that it is manufacturing nine customised Ola S1 Pro scooters for the Embassy of The Netherlands on special order. The scooters will be used across the three diplomatic missions of The Netherlands in India and will come painted in the custom orange shade, the official colour of The Netherlands, and will also sport the official logo of the country.

The units will be delivered to the embassy in New Delhi, and to the Consulates General in Mumbai and Bengaluru, once Ola begins customer deliveries in the coming weeks. “We are excited to build these custom scooters for the embassy of The Netherlands and are proud that they have joined our Mission Electric, which is to ensure that no petrol two-wheelers are sold in India after 2025, Ola Founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said in a statement.
