Here’s the quote from the Yamaha official, who apparently confirmed the launch on the condition of anonymity
“We will enter the premium 125cc space with the R125 on the 17th of April. It will be the first sports 125cc machine in the country. Rajpal Yadav will be the brand ambassador of our new product as Mr. Yadav and the bike compliment each other. We intend to compete with the Pulsar 135 and CBF Stunner FI”.

I don't think the Indian r125 can be the version that the rest of the world gets. The r125 is made in italy and cost about RS295600. I've ridden this bike and got to say it looks much better than the r15. It gives 15hp.

Guess it is the CBR effect. If the bike is launched with the specs given above it will be interesting to see how the market reacts.

Yamaha's new year gift

Hi guys, Happy New year to everyone.

*This is news given to me by the GM of Yamaha Dealership in my town he owns 5 showrooms in the district. I was there to get quoted for Yamaha R15 V 2.0(black)

He said that Yamaha has planned to launch R125 in January 2013 with cost of Rs 1,03,600 ex showroom and new colors in FZ, FZ-S, Fazer and R15. He also said that there will be a possible facelift to FZ, FZ-s and Fazer. Yamaha has also planned to launch a 250cc bike in mid of 2013.

It has been debated and conclusively decided that bike wont come here.
It just makes no sense.

I too know R125 is bit on the higher side on price for 125cc bike and its not coming to India,but the man said the first batch of R125 has already shipped to Delhi for launch.
