Yes, It is the Volkswagen Phaeton. Volkswagen is soon going to launch an updated version of same which would cost Rs.76.3 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom Delhi). The car sports a powerful 3.6 Litre V6 Engine and a 6 Speed Tiptronic Gearbox. The Phaeton rivals with Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and likes. Here are some pictures -:

Yes. VW Phaeton will be launched very soon.

Does it really compete against A8 or 7 Series or S Class ?

I am not sure about the performance of this beast, but from looks, it looks like president car. There is no fascination for the cost involved!!

I've seen Phaeton roaming in Delhi quite a few times. It's looks far better than A8 but doesn't has the charm as of a 7-Series or Mercedes S-Class.

It is an average car.Cannot beat the S or the 7 or even the A8.It has not been successful worldwide also.VW is giving us a phased out model?
The next gen Phaeton is making its international debut this year.
Why give us the old one?
Definately NOT worth the money!

Well yeah i also saw an ad in paper a week ago about this car.

The car surely looks feature laden but i still prefer a Bmw more than this!

Don't you guys think that at that price you can get a better badge? VW at 80 Lacs plus makes sense? Because people who spend that kind of money for a car are looking at a prestige badge more than anything else?
