New (?) Maruti Suzuki Omni ‘Demister’ Launched!

Hi,

Today I have visited local Maruti Dealer M/s.Bharath Automobiles in Mangalore to see brand new Maruthi Omni Demister ! Recently Mr.Varun told me that he has seen new Maruthi omni with a/c controls etc. More over today in local paper Maruthi Suzuki gave an advertisement about it. I had a shock of my life time to see same old Omni with heater and blower and this is badged as "brand new Maruthi Omni Demister"

Big blower/ heater is fixed below the dash board and its vent is directed to windshield to de-mistify the windshield That all! What an idea! I had great expectation that there will be A/c., interior change, new instruments, better suspension with anti-roll bar in the front etc., The blower is so huge that it eats up the valuable floor space in front ( bad news for persons who are planning to upgrade from three wheeler rickshaw to Omni to ferry school children because a small boy can easily fit over there and capacity will be less!)

Omni I meas so called "New Omni Demister" is costing more over 3 lacks now on road! And it is same old wine not even in new bottle! What to say.

Me too saw a Omni in Mangalore, with all the a/c controls and shocked..

I also saw the heater knob too.. Even the dash is attractive.
What about other changes ?

ha ha...so actually the people siting behind will never get a feel of AC. whats the point in this innovation . the blowers should have been in the center row which would have been better and would have given some selling point.

Haha,its not the old wine in a new bottle,instead its the same old wine in the same older bottle,only outer stickering is changed to make it look attractive!!
So,is there anything called demister on the rear windshield too?

Jango there is no AC, JUST HEATER AND AIR BLOWER, Thats all !

No, Nothing. In paper advertisement it is mentioned " BRAND NEW MARUTI OMNI DEMISTER" !

Varun, Its the same old dash. Its not A/C controls, Just blower and heater only! And blower is directed to the windshield. Oh my god! I am feeling dizzy.

Only heater, not even air vents for passengers ? That's really bad

Maruti has actually named it “Omni Demister”. Eh? Anyways thanks for the information. Please upload some snaps or a scan of that advertisement.

Tata Venture is better than Omni. Ofcourse, you get added benefit of diesel.

I agree with you but the problem is venture costs almost 2L+ compared to omni.

I agree with you but the problem is venture costs almost 2L+ compared to omni.

But fit & finish is better, not to forget more powerful engine that too diesel.
Overall, Venture is expensive but more VFM than Omni.

• Better fit and finish.
• More comfort.
• Bigger cabin.
• More power.
• A/C
• Image
• Safety(more than Omni at least)
• Three front facing rows.
• And yes,ITS A DIESEL and is cheaper to run!!

Oh..
BTW,the rear seats of Omni are the most uncomfy ones I have seated on till date,they have very very less thigh support,in fact nearly no thigh support.
