A new Mahindra SUV platform will be unveiled on India’s 78th Independence Day, the brand’s Q4 FY2025 earnings call has confirmed. Among the details we know about the new platform being revealed on August 15 is that Mahindra’s new Chakan plant will be producing it, and it is likely to be the New Flexible Architecture (NFA).
Mahindra has begun work on a new multi-energy platform and that the new Chakan factory would be making new models based on this new platform. Called the New Flexible Architecture (NFA), this monocoque platform will spawn a number of new models from the Indian SUV specialist, which will be capable of utilising petrol, diesel, hybrid and all-electric powertrains. The NFA platform will likely make its debut in a concept.
In fact, Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director & CEO – Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra explained, "It is a platform vision. It is not the launch of a product. It is the launch of a new platform and an introduction to the kinds of concepts and products that will come out of it."

This is corroborated by the company’s plans, which state that 2 mid-cycle facelifts and 1 all-new model will launch next year in India. That the Bolero EV, likely to be based on the same NFA platform, will also arrive in 2026 is hinted at by the brand’s Q4 2024 earnings presentation.
Mahindra plans to have capacity of 1.2 lakh NFA models per year of at its Chakan plant, and is planning a new greenfield plant for FY2028. The brand has also mentioned that it is planning to increase production capacity for the Mahindra Thar Roxx and XUV 3XO in FY2026 by up to 3,000 units.
