Owners and buyers of the Isuzu D-Max Utility Extended Cab pick-up will soon be able to order a tipper truck conversion, the Japanese company has announced.
The package replaces the pick-up load area with a new load bed measuring 1,977mm long and 1,800mm wide. The bed is constructed from 18mm-thick interlocking alloy panels, while the sideboards are 300mm high. Isuzu says loads are easy to secure thanks to “heavy-duty underfloor tie points.”
At the back, the tailboard opens to 180 degrees and is double-hinged, meaning it can be opened from the top of the bottom. Alternatively, removable corner posts mean it can be removed altogether to make it easy to load goods and materials.
The hydraulic mechanism that lifts the tipper is operated using a lead control. According to the manufacturer, the gear has been reinforced so it can withstand the elements, while a hose burst safety valve prevents the body from falling suddenly.
Other enhancements include rubber body rests to ensure the body doesn’t cause excessive noise and vibration while driving, while a gantry is installed to protect the cabin and its occupants.
Inside there are various mod cons in the shape of air conditioning, an easy-clean vinyl floor, under-seat storage, heated mirrors, electrically-operated windows and Bluetooth connectivity. There’s a USB port and a pair of 12-volt sockets, too.
