drsuvro,

Thanks for your suggestion.
I liked BRIO the first time i saw it. But i would be travelling with luggage frequently. And the read glass makes the boot luggage fully visible. I dont like that part. Otherwise, its very peppy...

Swift - is a good car. Known for its performance and comfort. But again, my boot space requirement disqualifies it.

I cant dump the luggage in passanger's area and reduce their comfort.

I think Ritz is very good VFM and a powerful package...
Just dont like its front look.

Again i go back to i10 and Figo. [;)]
Not sure if i am biased. But, they look to satisfy my requirements in all angles.

Thanks all - for your valuable suggestions.
My next step is to visit the showroom and to a TD and then come up with my findings. Just theoritical research is really helpful, but wont be sufficient to make the decision.

If possible, can someone get me the recent OTR (Chennai) for i10 Magna LPG and Figo Exi Petrol? And any discounts if you come across.

Thanks again everyone !!!
I got your points... very logical ones....
Ritz is truly VFM... but while driving through narrow space you may scratch off the rear wheel bulges... gives you a SUV like stance and feeling... you may go for it if lookwise it's ok to you.

If you have to drive yourself, get an i10. It's fantastic to drive.
If driven by a chauffeur get a Figo... good ride quality and spacious interior...

Considering your requirements, I have taken the i10, Ritz and Figo into account.

Figo:

Advantages:

• Robust build and construction
• Interiors more comfortable than chief competitors i10 & Swift
• 1.4 Diesel's proven driveability and fuel efficiency. No turbolag
• The Ford Figo's mature big-car-like ride quality
• Ford's DNA in the on-road behaviour and quick steering
• Class-topping 284 liter boot space

Disadvantages:

• Lacks the modernity of recently launched hatchbacks
• Both of the engines in the Figo are lacking in outright performance. Neither engine can exploit the car's dynamics
• No true top-end variant (tilt adjustable steering, rear power windows, MID etc.)
• Average backseat legroom. Not in the league of, say, an Indica Vista
• Ford's sub-par dealership experience

Ritz:

Advantages:

• A practical "Maruti Swift"
• Well-packaged interiors
• Outstanding petrol & diesel engines
• Composed handling for a tall boy
• Maruti’s after-sales service

Disadvantages:

• Weird rear styling can be a deal breaker
• Ride quality at low speeds is bumpy
• Interior part quality isn't as good as the Hyundais

i10

Advantages:

• A well-rounded city hatchback
• Best-in-class interior fit, finish and quality
• Refined 1.2L petrol is a sprightly performer. Variable valve timing tech too
• Light clutch, gearbox & steering. Incredibly easy to drive
• Hyundai’s excellent after-sales service quality

Disadvantages:

• Unsettled ride on less-than-perfect roads. Rear (especially) gets bouncy
• Narrow width makes it a strict 4 seater. Unwelcome 5th adult
• Missing goodies (No climate control, alloy wheels, dead pedal or adjustable front neck restraints)
• Severely under-tyred. An upgrade to 175/70 R13 is highly recommended
• No diesel variant available yet. Most competitors offer the oil-burner option

@surya

Good un-biased report !!

Yes Ritz is little bumpy in slow moving and I seriously felt the tyre size would have been 185 section than thin 165 as for tall boy design it is must to reduce the body roll

guralla 74 - What you said is true. I have actually not driven the Figo and Ritz, but have got inside them. I have driven the i10, however. I have a collection of advantages and disadvantages of cars based on the reviews here. Can use those in these circumstances, I guess.

Hey guys,

I decided to take Figo Petrol EXI (Diamond white) in a couple of days.
Took a test drive today @ MPL Ford, Kovilambakkam, Chennai.
OTR is 4,85,000 (within my budget)

Am planning to get a Audio cum GPS Navi system and alloy wheels.
Please give me suggestions, if i can do it in showroom or other specialists in chennai ?

Budget for alloy - 20k (saw in net, optimum upgrade is 185/65 R14)
Budget for Audio/GPS - 30k

If all goes fine, i will be having my Figo in the next 14 days.

Thanks for your support !!!

Additional Note:
Had a look at micra / a-star / swift / dzire / zen estilo @ the auto-expo in CTC last week.
Had a look at i10 / i20 at my office stall.

Micra was a good option. I am not a fan of round round stuff. I mostly like square/rectangle. So, rejected.
i10 - 3rd person space was very little in the rear. So, rejected.
a-star - was not in my option. anyway didnt like the plastics & finishing.
swift - impractical boot & comparatively higher cost is the only reason, i rejected it.
dzire - not in my budget.
zen estilo - interiors was average and not impressive. so, rejected.
i20 - not in my budget.

Congrat's Buddy, all these accessories which you have mentioned will be very expensive at dealer's side my advice to you is to get it done from the open market where you will get better option's at a reasonable price.
