Infact pickup is more in beat because of the torque you can use it like automatic in 3 gear in city .
And sorry but build quality in beat is much better then swift.
Yes on highways swift will outshine the beat .

raja
i accidentally punched by friends car and it made a prominent dent
material used in beat is cheaper than what used in swift

squall
no doubts about that you can get top version with all features for less price

thats why my friend probably went for beat diesel
eventhough he has swift which is running good

Did you punch the swift ever ? Do it and see what happens

Build quality means also the plastics used, door beading and all which is superior in beat .

Hi Guys,

I'm planning on buying a car, my first one. Since I'm not very good with MT, I was thinking of going for the Astar AT. Just for the comfort and ease of driving on crowded Bangalore roads.

Is it true that mechanics have no knowledge of AT? I'd expect Maruti mechanics to be knowledgeable and provide good service.

Another option is the Wagon R, which is MT ofc. I just love the look of it.

What would you suggest?

Welcome to TAI, since you are not comfortable with MT,i would suggest you to stick with Astar AT as it's a good car with decent mileage figures Maruti ASS certainly knows how to repair or maintain this car,

you can also wait for Brio AT which will be launched by middle of this month.

The only AT car I have driven till date is the Hyundai i10, except for skinny tires it has everything a good AT car should have. One more thing, please take a long drive & observe if the Rubberband effect is very high in the AT car you are about to buy.

I feel the fit & finish in i10 is way better than most other small cars.

OT: What type of PS are you looking for? Beat Petrol has a HPS & most Maruti's have EPS. It could make a lot of difference (in driving pleasure) on a AT car as there is nothing else we use much in such a car.

I will say go for the Brio AT with your eyes shut. The price should be about 6.25L OTR for the V and about 50-60k lower for the S.

5 speed box, ARAI economy of 16.5kpl, a Honda. It is being formally launched on the 18th. Right now journalists have driven it and the reviews are excellent. There are some with the dealers (one per state) for the RTO approval.

I am waiting for the launch.
