My Scorpio VLX - Powered By mHawk!

25,000 kms service report + few other issues

Yesterday, my Scorpio was given to Global Gallarie (Mahindra A.S.S) for its 25,000 service & a few other issues.

This service does not need anything to be replaced on cleaned, just general inspection.

Few other issues from my side:
1) ABS light blinks intermittently.
2) A 'thack' kind of sound from the rear suspension when driving over potholes.
3) Fuel leakage as Fuel return line popped out of its hose.

Some issues they found:
1) One Ski rack is a bit loose (it is the support for my cleaner while washing the top!).
2) One horn is not working (Roots-aftermarket).

Extras-
1) Interior Cleaning & polishing.

Car was sent to the A.S.S by 11 am & was returned by 7 pm.

1) ABS light issue was traced to a loose connection, solved.
2) The 'thack' sound was due to rear bush gone kaput, replaced under warranty.
3) Fuel line was replaced under warranty.
4) Ski rack & horn issue was solved with no charges!

Charges:

Parts covered under warranty:
1) ABS
2) Fuel line
Total - NIL.

Parts NOT covered under warranty:
1) Bush lower link - 4 pieces - 132x4 - Rs. 528
2) Bush lower link - 4 pieces - 128x4 -Rs. 512
3) Bush pan hard rod - 1 piece - Rs. 169
4) Bush pan hard rod - 1 piece - Rs. 171
5) Cotton waste - 1 - Rs. 8
Total - Rs. 1392/-

Labour charges:
1) Interior cleaning (Requested by me) - Rs. 1350
2) Rear Link Bush - Rs. 800
3) Torsion bar - Rs. 560
Total - Rs. 2710



25,000 service charge - NIL
Taxes on above items - Rs. 624

Grand total - Rs. 4727/-

Car was washed thoroughly & interior cleaning was good, the interior has a nice pleasing scent now! MOST IMPORTANTLY, Rs. 450 of exterior cleaning was not charged this time!
Overall, a good experience.

Else good to know your vehicle back to action and in good shape.also what we were thinking about your abs lights was same with loose connection but what was loose do share.

Vijay, Torision bar is actually a term used for suspension.
One end of a long metal bar is attached firmly to the vehicle chassis and the opposite end terminates in a lever, mounted perpendicular to the bar, that is attached to a suspension arm, spindle or the axle. Vertical motion of the wheel causes the bar to twist around its axis and is resisted by the bar's torsion resistance.
Please have a look at this for detailed information.

vijay, torsion bar is a part of the suspension & is usually found on all RWD vehicles.

about the ABS, unfortunately, by the time i reached the A.S.S, the service advisor who attended my vehicle had already left. so i could only ask the technician (who was pretty much tired & in a hurry to go home!) & he just said - "loose connection tha..."!!! thats all i could know.

sure buddy, i have some new pics, but they all are the regular boring types! i am waiting for some good pics which i may find worthy to post!

As i service mine at local garage with a trust worthy mechanic, i feel the bills in A S S is so much high.
For oil change its 300/- gosh! so high.
To remove drain cork , fix new oil filter and then pour in new oil , the rates are so high.
Its really been a long time since i stepped into a A. S. S.

i give my car only to the A.S.S as i have seen that, once the car is touched at a local garage (A.S.S technicians do come to know), then the A.S.S would blame them for even small issues & make a huge list of problems in the car & make a hefty bill. also, the warranty would be void.

Not all local garage will be good. You must know about the garage before you step in.

Luckily I have a good mechanic to look after my car.
I also work along with him, its a fun , you get to know about cars and its mechanism also the satisfaction in working on your car.

After completing my B.Tech it was very boaring in home . I went to work with him regularly .

A small note.

New 2.2 's spares need to wait , but avail immediately in A S S

So 2.6 scorpio owners can leave there cars at local garage. No waiting time for them in spare section.

ah, was thinking why your thread has nothing new to share buddy, also to say not new scorpio Mhawk is available with 4x4 option on top end VLX model.So safari would have some competetion in this segment as well where scorpio was not offering till now.

Meanwhile, i have to give my scorpio to the A.S.S to address the following issues:
1) right horn button on the steering wheel is not working.
2) ABS light still comes on, albeit rarely.
3) Ac blower is making a squeaking noise.
4) driver door is making a squeaking noise again.
5) have to enquire for new scorpio's rear badges. the 'X' in VLX is broken!
6) scorpio's left RVM has a concave mirror but right (driver side) RVM is plane mirror. i am planning to buy the left side concave mirror & fit it in the right RVM. its possible since the shape is same & i have done it in the scorpio M2Di in kerela.

finally, i just wish my mHawk was a sturdily built as my non-Crde.

As years pass on, the build quality of cars come down. I've seen this personally in Qualis and Swift.

this needs to be addressed priority, as this came up again.
3) Ac blower is making a squeaking noise.

do they give single alphabet badge or the whole vlx needs to be purchased.

i too believe, quality has gone down since its launch, i still prefer the old mascular looks with more sturdy bumpers rather then this girlish tooth type, looses its charm of sturdiness.Hope to see you machine back in action with all issues sorted out.Keep updating.

yes might be some loose contact but it is bothering me too much as its always the right button i use to honk.
they wont give that 'X' for sure as VLX is a single piece. they wont even give the VLX as a single piece, i will have to buy a set.
yes, i hope they have rectified the RVM in the new scorpio.

apart from looks, what bothers me more is the general build quality of the car.
