Micra Off to a Flying Start; Diesel Coming Up!

The Nissan Micra has gotten off to a flying start! Within a few months of its launch there is already an order backlog of over 2,500 units of the Micra. This has forced Nissan India to increase production of the Micra 1.2-litre petrol from 255-units to 500 units a day at their Chennai plant.

First the i10 and now Micra.

Micra - saw one with my uncle on road. he said , its like 3 to 4 eggs attached!

Indian market has a fairly large scope of hatchbacks, and diesels. Now when both come together in an attractive package, nothing could beat it, for which Ford Figo stands as a prime example. Although Nissan Micra is not yet available in Diesel but these figures are quite unexpected. Let’s wait for how long it continues, and if it doesn’t I’m sure Nissan has already stored-in a cure for that too – Micra Diesel!

Well i wont call the i10 ugly , it looks cute!

And even Micra the front looks okay but the rear is too bad!

Even the Beat had similar success when it was first launched , later the excitement died off thanks to the Figo! Lets see for how long the Micra is going to sell well.

Micra is just the new start for Nissan in India. Nissan has long plan for India. I don't see Micra to be as flying start, let us watch for few months.

It is off to such a good start that Nissan have to increase capacity.

And if that is not a flying start, then what is?

How much it is selling per month? I think around 1000.
In its category other cars sells ~ 10K. How it can be flying start.
Backlog shows, Nissan didn't expect even this much number.

How do you explain the Figo effect?

It has been over-booked since day 1.

Well, the i10 isnt ugly.

It looks kind of cute.

But thats where the problem lies.

I dont like cute cars, I like aggressive cars.

If I were to ever buy a car for my mom, it would be this.

But for myself, well, I would not be seen in a car that looks too girly.
