Mecedes Benz India has announced the price hike which goes onto effect from May 1st, 2011. This hike will range from approximately 1 to 2% and impact all the current models of their line-up, including C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, and of course, the Maybach. Thanks to the new CKD norms, other luxury car manufacturers like Audi and BMW are also expected to follow this trend.

The rising input costs and challenging exchange rates as well as inflationary impacts are areas that have a bearing on the cost of the final product. We have absorbed these to a significant level but moving forward we will have to pass on some portion of this impact to the customer. The prices of all Mercedes-Benz models will be revised upwards effective 1st May 2011 for the Indian market. - Mr. Peter Honegg, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India

But still 1-2% will be slightly felt by atleast C-class buyers! Well if they plan to manufacture their cars here then it will be history for many Indian cars!
