Mercedes-Benz has launched the G 400d in India starting at ₹2.55 Crores (Ex.showroom). It's available in Adventure Edition and AMG Line. The deliveries will commence from Q4 2023 based on exclusive allocations.

- The G 400d Adventure Special Edition is configured especially for the Indian market, while the G 400d AMG Line makes the timeless off-roader, sporty, and lifestyle vehicle. Booking amount for either is ₹1.5 Lakhs.
- Mercedes-Benz India’s TEV (Top-End Vehicle) segment witnessed a strong 107% growth in Q1 2023. This segment also remained Mercedes-Benz India’s highest-growing segment in CY 2022, with a 69% Y-o-Y growth.
- The G 400d’s OM656 is the most powerful diesel engine in the history of Mercedes-Benz. The in-line six-cylinder diesel engine delivers an output of 330 BHP and maximum torque of 700 Nm between 1200 - 3200 RPM.
- Engine features Nanoslide cylinder barrels used by Mercedes in Formula-1 with ideal lubrication, reduced friction and highly wear-resistant, thanks to hard contact surfaces with extremely fine pores for oil absorption.
- The G 400d changes to ‘G Mode’ mode, independently of any of the chosen drive programs when one of the three differential locks has been activated, or the Low Range engaged.
- The G Mode adapts the adjustable damping of the chassis, the steering, and also the accelerator characteristic, avoiding unnecessary gearshifts and ensuring maximum off-road capability.
