Re: Upcoming Vehicles From Maruti Suzuki

I somehow don't agree to that buddy. MPV's do show sales but not a hit. Remember the last MPV from Maruti -> Eeco? Its selling because of non-omni but not a hit. Can you help me if i'm wrong.
Ha ha ha. Good to see the plans for facelifts but Swift's waiting period is still a Facedown![evil]
Well Lets start like this, when omni made its first entry it was selling in good nos. because it was low priced, better engine and ease of owning one was good(remember at those days).Eeco is definitely a hit why? because it is the MPV in that budget to provide comfort and an up-gradation for omni buyers
and moreover no other competitors have shown up to this vehicle(Well Tata did with its Venture but it became Tipsy Topsy). And this vehicle is for a family of >5 members looking for an affordable car to travel joyfully and adds to the utility too.

Will Ertiga be equipped with DDiS. In that case it will be interesting. IMHO there is good a market for 'sophisticated' diesel MUV below 7 Lakh.
Yes it is equipped with DDiS engine as same in SX-4 making 90BHP power. But we don't know about the prices still(hope they wont price it like hell)

Maruti's 2 year product road map for India

Maruti Suzuki, the market leader in the Indian car market has big plans in the pipeline, in order to maintain its leadership position in the country. 2013 is expected to see a slew of car launches from Maruti Suzuki with facelifts being planned across its model line up. First up, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR facelift is expected to be launched in the next few days. The 2013 WagonR facelift will feature minor stylistic changes to the front end while the insides of the car are expected to see a couple of extra features to round off the facelift.

Apart from the WagonR facelift, here’s what Maruti Suzuki plans to launch in 2013,

* 2013 Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift: The best selling B+ segment hatchback could get a facelift barely two years after the all new model was launched.

* The Zen Estilo is also expected to go under the scalpel to get a facelift.

* The A-Star will get a facelift, and will take inspiration from the China-spec model. The A-Star known as the Suzuki Alto in international markets got a facelift last year for the Chinese market. The same car is expected to make its debut in India, later this year.

* Maruti Suzuki has been caught testing the SX4 facelift in India over the last few days. The facelifted SX4 is expected to be launched in India later this year. Apart from a cosmetic makeover, the SX4 facelift is expected to get a few additional features on the inside. The SX4 facelift that will be launched in India will closely mirror the facelifted China-spec model.

* In late 2013 or early 2014, Maruti Suzuki could launch a 800cc turbo diesel engine powered small car. The small capacity 800cc turbo diesel engine is currently being developed by Suzuki engineers at Japan. An 800cc diesel powered small car is expected to be Maruti Suzuki’s answer to the Tata Nano Diesel.

* While the SX4 is available in crossover(hatchback) and sedan forms in many international markets, Maruti has launched only the sedan version of this car, which has turned out to be a dud-seller for the brand. Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the crossover version of the SX4 in the middle of 2014, in a bid to boost sales.

The SX4 Crossover was a fail in international market. I dont think its even a crossover, more like a jacked up hatchback but its got 4wd.[surprise]

SX4 in its hatch format has better potential to sell more than its current sedan variant.i am also interested in their new 800cc diesel engine & i am sure that this engine will almost power all their A & B segment hatches.

On what basis are you calling sx4 crossover a fail ?

In 2007 Suzuki Auto posted the best year-end close in company history, with SX4 sales a primary contributor to this success.[6]

And

The SX4 Crossover is also sold in Indonesia since 2007. Earlier models were directly imported from Japan (Completely Built-up/CBU), however locally-assembled versions were a year later introduced to meet the higher-than-expected market demand

Maruti to launch 4 new SUV's.

Maruti Suzuki India to launch four SUVs in two years

The country's largest passenger vehicles manufacturer Maruti SuzukiBSE -1.48 % India is planning to launch four Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) over the next two years.

According to ET Now, the company is expected to launch a crossover version of the SX4 sometime next year. Along with that Maruti is also aiming for an XA Alpha launch by 2015. The concept car XA Alpha was first unveiled at the Auto Expo 2012.

The other two models that the auto major is believed to be working on are a sub-4 metre Vitara and an SUV version of the Swift Dzire. These launches will aim to capture the fast growing SUV segment in the country.

Meanwhile Renault SA has found the Goldilocks spot for India's rising middle classes with its Duster compact SUV: just big enough, safe enough and cheap enough to send sales in the South Asian country surging.

In the seven months since it began selling the sport- utility vehicle in July, Renault shipped 27,285 units to India, compared with 3,964 for all its other models for the year ended March.

Indian car buyers bought 57 per cent more SUVs in the first 10 months of the fiscal year, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers data show, spurring carmakers to rush new models to showrooms.

It was reported in January that Mahindra & Mahindra, which has launched its premium sports utility vehicle Rexton in India, is still studying the market to find an appropriate time to launch SUV Korando from the SsangYong stable.

M&M has also hiked the capacities of some its best selling brands - Quanto, XUV500 and Rexton. With the increase in capacity for these three products, Mahindra hopes to bring down the waiting period for these popular products and thereby facilitate its customers in getting early deliveries of their products. In addition, the bookings for these brands have been opened across more centres in India.

Mahindra's Quanto has garnered bookings of more than 12000 units within the first two months of its launch while deliveries for the XUV500 are as per schedule.

Re: Maruti to launch 4 new SUV's.

err exactly what i was hinting, while the whole world is attempting hard to shake Maruti from the numero uno position in small/mid car arena, Maruti is getting ambitious in the UV arena - this should give sleepless nights to the established UV makers now. Maruti has always been a volume player, exciting times ahead!

Seems a good move by Maruti as they have already tasted the success with their LUV Ertiga and they have understood that the future market is for UVs. If Maruti launch them quickly it will be a interesting seen in the market where Maruti may come with some cheapest prices

[surprise]. Rather it was expected. And I am damn sure, they will work in India. But be cautious about what we say. We have seen Vitara's fate.
