Two people, including a pregnant woman, were burnt to death when their car caught fire in broad daylight in Kannur. Risha (26), a native of Kuttiatur, and her husband Prajith (32) were burned to death. The accident occurred while going to the district hospital with a pregnant woman. But just before reaching the hospital, the car caught fire.

It was concluded that the cause of the fire was a short circuit. The fire started from the front. First, the fire spread to the leg of the car driver. Locals said that Prajit was driving the vehicle. After seeing the fire, Prajith himself opened the back door. eyewitnesses said. The people who saw the accident said that the car caught fire within seconds. Locals said that the people inside the car cried out in agony but could not be saved and had to watch helplessly.

The driver opened the back door shortly after the car caught fire. This is how the 4 people in the back seat were saved. But the front door could not be opened. By then, the fire had spread further. The survivors were taken to the hospital. There was a fire station about 100 meters away from where the incident took place, but the 2 people could not be saved.

Very sad. May the souls RIP.
Engine is spared. Looks like the fire started near boot area. Maybe gas cylinder involved. If it's origin is dashboard then aftermarket accessory might be the cause.

From the above picture, it seems the fire started from the front -right side as the flame is so strong in that position. I too doubt that the cause of the fire may be a short circuit problem from some aftermarket accessory.!
