Hi all,
I got my Ritz delivered last month and wanted to install decent ICE in it
I was fascinated with the idea of a computer in the car and decided to build a carpc, and got so exited that I've all the items ordered, delivered, built before getting the car, and even before learning how to drive
So, These are the components for my car PC.
Motherboard : Intel D525MW (Sourced from ebay globaleasybuy)
RAM : Hynix DDR3 2GB (Pulled from my laptop)
SSD : Vertex 2 60GB (Had it already)
Power supply for Car : M3-ATX, 125w output (Sourced from Short-circuit.com)
Power supply for wall socket : picoPSU-80, 80w output, 60w (12v/5A) AC-DC Power Adapter (Sourced from ebay globaleasybuy)
Enclosure : M350 Universal Mini-ITX enclosure (Sourced from ebay globaleasybuy)
Internet : mini pci-e Expedite EU850D Embedded Module with BSNL 3G prepaid (Sourced from mobilx long time back)
Microphone for calls: Asus SoundMax SoundBeam Array Microphone (Sourced from ebay)
Front End : Centrafuse
Display : V70-XB 7in widescreen touchscreen monitor (Sourced from Short-circuit.com)
Usb OBD Scanner : OBDLINK SX, it works with ritz
Usb Bluetooth : Normal min usb from ebay
Usb camera : logitech hd cam (Webcam Pro 9000).
Usb GPS : i-Blue GM-2 USB GPS Receiver with Satguide Maps
For the power requirements:
M3 ATX is capable of providing 125 watts.
Below is the break up (Taken from manual),
Output Rail - Current (Max) - Power (Max)
5V - 6A - 30w
3.3V - 6A - 19.8w
5VSB - 1.5A - 7.5w
-12V - 0.15A - 1.8w
12V - 4-6A - 72w
Total wattage: 125watts
Power usage (approximate):
Motherboard/cpu : 22w
SSD : 4w
PCI Express Mini Card : 2.5W
Case Fan : 1.44w
Ram : 2-3w
Display : 20w
Usb Flash 8gb : 2w
Usb OBD II : 5w
Usb GPS : 5w
Usb Bluetooth : 2w
Usb rearview camera : 5w
Usb sound : 5w
Total wattage: <80w for computer
Audio Components part.
Hertz 4 Channel Amplifier (HE 4.1)
Hertz Front Component System (DSX 165)
Hertz Rear Coaxial Speakers (DCX 165)
Hertz DBX 250 Subwoofer
Installation: I had checked with Auto shop at Bangalore and they had no idea about Carpenter and i felt they were not interested to do the job.
Then i went to top car at Jayanagar, they were little more inclined to do the job. It took 5 hrs for complete installation, i mean everything from system, speakers to gps, obd etc.
i've Windows 7 running centrafuse and "all is well"
For the power, I've connected computer with the double din stereo power sockets and amp to battery.
I'll upload some pics once i reach home.
