Yes it's true folks,
Maruti Suzuki Japan is toying with the idea of reducing its reliance on Fiat for supply of its diesel engines, at least that's what the grapevine is saying. MS has realised that the diese story is here to stay & wants to capitalise on this factor. Of course this means a lot of investment for setting up a new engine but then again the volumes will justify the capital expensiture. If this actually happens it will be interesting to see what step Fiat takes to make up for its lost revenues & moreover what kind of an engine MS will come up with.
A new MS Swift is also on the anvil which is known as the 'Sport' worldwide. But even if it comes it won't come with the 135bhp state of tune, rather it is most likely to get the 1.6 pot from SX4.....
