Maruti 800 Petrol Smell When AC Switched ON!

Hello guys a friend of mine has M800.
A strange things happening with it, whenever AC is switched on the petrol smell comes inside cabin.
When the door is opened to get down the petrol smell comes.
What could be the reason.
He has complained it several times to A.S.S(Sagar Automobiles, Suraksha).
But both have not able to fix it.

His is a M800 AC(March 2008) model.

@Mukeshus - get the fuel lines checked.Also get vapour lock/ or O2 sensor checked.Ask your friend not to take it mildly and contact Maruti ASAP.

What does the vapour lock / O2 sensor means?
Can you elaborate it further..

Me too having the same problem but, I don't have an A/C in my car, it starts smelling when I run the car in traffic...

In my friends case it happens only when AC switched ON.

Please look for following things

• Open engine bay and look for any fuel leakages around fuel injectors and throughly look for any fuel leakages in fuel lines both in engine bay and entire car even near A/C compressor
• check fuel tank for leakages and breather pipe
• Replace fuel cap or if there is any blockage clean it
• If stereo is installed in rear of the car near c pillar - check the for any damage as it is close to fuel tank opening

Oxygen sensor determines real time air fuel moixture for proper combustion.It was developed by Bosch in 1960s.
