For me this is Facelift of Xuv500 and not a new segment above Xuv700![thumbsdown]
[gun]
My opinions have changed a bit. From hideous to acceptable. May be to not bad when I see it in flesh. [lol]

BTW, This is a large car. This is larger than Safari/Harrier in everyway. Wider, Longer and Taller. My guess is, it'll sit above the Safari and below the Fortuner. the gap where Innova sits. Between 25 to 35 lakhs price bracket.

New Logo looks Good to me, well done Mahindra. [clap]
P.S.- As per Autocar India this logo is Mr. Pratap Bose’s first work in Mahindra. Its a damn good reply to the people who called Pratap Bose is not good enough in doing Designs. [cheers]

Mahindra’s XUV700 is India’s first vehicle to integrate Alexa Voice AI

Mahindra’s XUV700 offers seamless integration with Alexa for hands-free access to music and news, navigation, traffic updates, smart home control, over 30,000 Alexa Skills including Shayari and Audible Suno, and more

Customers can control vehicle functions including the sunroof, climate settings, and more with just their voice – even when offline

With Alexa in the vehicle, every drive can be more productive, fun, informative, and convenient

: The Mahindra XUV700 will be India’s first vehicle to offer integrated Alexa AI, making it easier and more intuitive to navigate and stay connected, organized, and entertained. By simply asking Alexa, XUV700 customers can control vehicle functions including windows and cabin temperature, play music, listen to audiobooks, get directions, check traffic, manage their smart home, find parking, and more – all while keeping hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

“Our vision is to bring Alexa to customers wherever they are – at home, at work, and on the go. We’re thrilled to work with the Mahindra Group and make Alexa a natural part of the in-car experience,” says Puneesh Kumar, Country Leader for Alexa, Amazon India. “Many customers have shared feedback that having Alexa around the home makes life more convenient and productive, and we can't wait to hear about their experience with Alexa in the new XUV700.”

Research shows that customers increasingly prefer to bring the same voice AI they use at home into their vehicles. In India, hundreds of thousands of customers have purchased Echo devices. They like talking to Alexa and are interacting millions of times each week in English, Hindi and Hinglish. The Alexa in-vehicle experience is designed to be an extension of the Alexa experience at home, including much of what customers already know and love about Alexa – plus automotive-specific functionality including car control, navigation, and third-party Alexa skills that are designed for on-the-go circumstances, such as finding parking.

In addition to existing Alexa features – including the ability to control Alexa-enabled smart home devices from anywhere, as well as access to over 30,000 Alexa skills like Shayari and Audible Suno – XUV700 customers have access to unique benefits such as:

  • Offline access to Alexa: Drivers often lose connectivity while driving in dense urban areas, through tunnels, in remote areas, or in parking garages. The XUV700 offers offline functionality for commands including controlling the sunroof and windows, switching to a USB or Bluetooth-connected smartphone, and adjusting the climate setting, so customers can stay productive and entertained even when vehicle connectivity is intermittent or not available.
  • Remote vehicle control from home – When at home, XUV700 customers can use the custom Mahindra Skill for Alexa to manage vehicle information such as fuel level or tire pressure, and remotely give commands for locking or unlocking the car door, preparing the cabin temperature, and more. These custom voice-enabled features will be available across all Alexa supported devices such as Echo smart speakers, FireTV, and even the Alexa app on mobile phones.

“Today marks an important milestone as we expand access to Alexa AI in vehicles in India, and we’re thrilled that it’s in collaboration with an automaker as innovative and iconic as Mahindra” says Christian Mentz, Head of Alexa Automotive International. “We can’t wait to bring this experience to XUV700 customers, and deliver ongoing updates and new features over time.”

Mahindra XUV700 has leveraged the Alexa Auto Software Development Kit (SDK), which enhances functionality and reduces friction for automakers to integrate Alexa into their vehicles and build custom voice-first experiences for customers. The Alexa Auto SDK will seamlessly deliver new features and capabilities to XUV700 customers through ongoing over-the-air updates. The XUV700 with Alexa Built-in is slated to debut on 14th August.

Speaking about the first of its kind in-vehicle integration with Amazon Alexa in India, Veejay Nakra, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd said, “Our collaboration with a customer-obsessed leader such as Amazon comes from a single-minded focus to make our new XUV700 an SUV like no other. We are confident that this seamless integration will further enhance the ownership experience of our connected and tech-savvy customers of today.”

Speaking about Alexa, Velusamy R, Chief of Global Product Development, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd. said, “At Mahindra it has always been our earnest endeavour to ensure that the latest technology products are available to our customers. We are excited to collaborate with Amazon Alexa to present the XUV700 as India’s first vehicle with Alexa Built-in.”

So this is it!
So called new product Xuv700 but at the end it looks like Xuv500 Facelift [frustration].
Actually it was aXuv500 Facelift. Don’t want to spread negativity but truly I am disappointed with the exterior design. [thumbsdown]
Frankly Tata Safari looks miles Better than Xuv700.
Mahindra will take the cake in feature list and pricing as I am saying from months.
Mahindra supporter said it will look better and its not like the brown spy distorted pic leaked earlier. I don’t see much of a difference, just shiny Chrome on grille.
If choice is between Tata Safari and Mahindra Xuv700 then I will go with Tata Safari.

All-New Mahindra XUV700 Makes Its Global Debut In India

The long-anticipated Mahindra XUV700 has finally made its global debut in India, and the SUV is expected to be launched later this year. It is Mahindra's new flagship model, and possibly one of the most feature-rich ones as well. The official replacement for the existing Mahindra XUV500, the new XUV700 will offer several segment-best features, including the biggest panoramic sunroof in this class. Additionally, Mahindra is also introducing its fully connected car technology Adrenox with the new three-row SUV, which will also be the first model to feature the company's new brand logo. Mahindra is the offering the SUV in MX and Adrenox or AX series.

This was waste of time.

Anyway. Looking at the video, and whatever was released, looks like XUV will sit with Safari in price table. And the quality of materials on the outside looks cheaper (meaning less mature) compared to Safari.

However, my opinions may change once I see it in flesh.

Press Release:

Unmissable presence

The sensuous and sophisticated exterior of the XUV700 presents an extremely aerodynamic design for an SUV.

  • Similarly, the large grille is meant to send as much air to cool the engine while paying homage to classic XUV family cues.
  • When you are in the business of cheating the airflow, conventional door handles had to give way to invisible ‘Smart door handles’, a first-in-segment by XUV700.
  • Prominent wheel haunches above the arches, especially at the rear help achieve a sporty stance, making the XUV700 look fast even while standing still.
Tough yet Sophisticated

The all-independent suspension set up of the XUV700 was developed with varied road surfaces in mind.
  • The front suspension is made up of McPherson strut with FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) technology and stabiliser bar

  • While superior ride comfort is guaranteed, it also provides unparalleled dynamic capabilities in tune with the performance on offer.
  • The XUV 700 also comes with an AWD variant that instils further confidence to tackle tough terrain and difficult weather conditions.
The inside story

The XUV700 interior is all about achieving harmony through contrast. So, it is not a surprise that you will find buffed chrome co-exist with polished black surfaces. Yet, you can’t miss the sophistication thanks to the seamless twin 10.25-inch floating displays screen that replaces the conventional Cluster with binnacles.

Superior surfaces and textures lend the XUV700 an inimitably luxurious ambience. State of art Smart Filter Technology (VR-LED) ensures clear and pure air for the occupant eliminating odour, dust, micro-allergens, and pathogens.

The interiors and its features vary depending on the variant.

Spirited Performance

The XUV700 will be available in Gasoline as well as all Aluminium Diesel engines with New Generation 6-speed Manual and Automatic Transmission options. I have made some basic comparison between HARRIER and XUV700. I have not compared SAFARI as 7 seater variant prices have not been released.

So it seems prices are in comparison and Optional pack specs will have higher prices and will be in a different league.

These prices seem introductory only and we'll see a price hike after a couple of thousand copies.

Even if it looks like an xuv500 facelift , car looks good and at that price it's killer.

Btw, just 1 lakh difference between ax3 and ax5 and you get the largest sunroof in the segment[shock] plus alloy wheels. I hope this was not a typo from their end[lol]

That price!!! HOW?

With this base price, Mahindra has ensured there is no bad press.

I think the price of diesels, with option packs selected, to shoot up crazy high. The reason why Mahindra is silent on AX series diesels. BUT, as is the norm, I may be wrong. BUT again, these sticker price are not going to stay this for long. The initial XUV500s too had a shocker price. BUT soon, they reached market parity and no one noticed.

NOW, the size is the same as Harrier/Safari. Price, lower. The XM and XE models are as good as dead now. Also in danger are 2 Kias, Venue, Skoda, VW and Mahindras own XUV 300.

Having said that, GOOD JOB MAHINDRA.

Since yesterday afternoon, the moment XUV700 was unveiled a tsunami of good wishes has poured in on social media platforms. Youtube is filled with unveiling videos and reviewers are having only good things to say about this and rightly, Mahindra deserves the praise for an outstanding pricing and feature loaded product. Yes, by looks it might not please everyone but truth be said, it has shaken the segment like hell. The mass market SUV segment post the unveil of XUV700 is in terrible shock. Lets wait for more variants to be unveiled with price and I believe even if this intro-price is for 1st 1200-1500 units still, M&M hasn't left anyone disappointed and definitely the Harrier & Safari along with the Alcazar, Kia(s) and all are going to face stiff competition. TML now atleast should prepare to give an AWD in Harrier and introduce the 4x4 in Safari. The 7 Airbags + Petrol option will hit the competition really hard and to be honest, after XUV700, Alcazar might be nobody soon. A friend who has car review channel on Youtube, she recently reviewed Alcazar and was quite positive of it but since the moment of XUV700 price reveal, she is in real shock. She refreshed the pricing page 2-3 times to ascertain if the prices were indeed real[lol]To M&M and Mr. Anand Mahindra, With XUV700, the ball's been hit out of the park!![clap] For Safari buyers this might be a decision-changer / influencer.

I am waiting for the day when Tata announces introduction of Petrol Harrier & Petrol Hybrid Safari

Regards
Akash
