Buddies,

Mahindra and Mahindra have launched a more powerful engine variant of TUV-3OO compact SUV. The TUV-3OO T8 Manual and AMT get a new 100 BHP Mhawk engine. The Ex-Showroom (Mumbai) price of the new variant is Rs. 8.87 lakhs. Apart from the all new 100 Bhp engine, the AMT too has been re-worked and shall perform more smoothly. Also Mahindra has also provided better cushioned seats and child safety seat mounts in the second row of TUV to make it a more VFM product for the customers.

Thanks Akash for the update, nice to have a proactive M&M, listening to customer feedback, will do a world of good to the customers confidence.

I would be interested to know the price difference, also they claim to have sorted the AMT niggles, hope they do have a solution for their existing AMT customers.

may I know whats the new top speed & acceleration of this engine?
I will surely update on these queries within 2 days since the car has been launched now so it would reach dealer in 2-3 days. If I do get a TD Vehicle of same will surely update on the difference in driving and transmission. It is actually good on part of Mahindra for being proactive in this respect.

Buddies,

Drove the Mhawk 100 Bhp TUV-3OO T8 AMT today. Yes, the display car has reached the dealership here and TD is also available. Sharing the pics of the same as well as a few observations in regards to new 100 Bhp Mhawk engine:

1) The in-cabin NVH is superb.

2) Good refinement.

3) AMT is smoother than before indeed but a slight lag is there. It can be lived with though.

4) Engine sound in comparison to Mhawk 80 is a notch better now.

5) Separate badge of Mhawk 100 is there on the left front fender of TUV-3OO to differentiate it from Mhawk 80 TUV-3OO.

In comparison to Mhawk80, the new 100 Bhp engine feels lot more peppier and even more refined. Mhawk80 felt lethargic but this one is comparatively a better performer. Pick up wise, the 100 Bhp with AMT felt much more agile and responsive unlike the subdued Mhawk80. The issues which existed earlier with the AMT are now sorted and it performs well and smoothly too.

Thanks akash,
I think TUV got the engine which it finally deserved.

I dream that TUV limited ed maybe launched someday with the legendary 2.2 Mhak, 4x4 with low range and diff locks! Thats a dream car and practical to own.

@Akash-Thank you so much for the clarification.

@bhvm -Tuv300 will surely come with 4wd Low/Diff Lock/HSA//HDC but don't know when. You can check the owners manual/Tuv300 mobile app or the Meter console of the current Tuv and all these indicators have been incorporated already.Regarding the 2.2 engine am not sure and that too now with the NGT ban looming on 2000cc diesels.
