Because engine is smooth and no smoke from the exhaust.
And it's not at all recommended in the manual.

As I follow I 10k kms oil change interval didn't go for those things.
Such things will be in need only when car reaches 1Lac kms and above till then based on usage pattern of my car I go for early engine oil change.
You know, I have read that driving car for more than 3000 RPM for some amount of time continuously will remove the carbon deposits from the engine walls.

Ha ha I don't rev the engine so hard.
I shift gears before turbo shoots, one - all the members in car don't feel any uneasiness.
Other better mileage of course while doing 3 digit speeds on highways, I will not cross 3200 rpm.

re: Mahindra Scorpio VLX Mist Silver - 55,555 Kms and Counting

Finally after a week i could take my hawk for a spin.

Loving the hawk day by day, still feels new.

Nothing much to update, ODO is now 50,545 kms.

Other day i could not post the condition of tyres on right side of hawk.

This is the tread of tyre, left on hawk as of now.

My hawk has never visited outside shops for alignment issues.

Tyre regime: Tyre rotation every 5000 kms.

Hawk @ remote place:

Photo shoot after the 50,000 kms service.

Today noticed a sticker mCheck plus after the 75 point checkup camp.

Now priorities is under body anti rust coating, which i haven't gone till now.

Happy to report no rattling from any parts, suspension is fine as per A.S.S which other wise needed bush replacements.

Then thinking to get the rear drum brakes painted either in red or jet black.

Thinking to replace the clamps of carrier as they seem to have lost their shine on skiracks.

Suggestions welcome.

Guys, Just another question. How often should be getting the Teflon coating done? I mean what i heard from car spa guys from my office premises that once in every 8 to 10 months will help our ride fresh and happy. Is it true?

Dont fall for the salesman ruse Krish_go, they will come up with fancy terms like teflon in essence its a con!

I suggest you wax and polish yourself every couple of months and annually go to fancy detailers(like 3m, meguiar) if you want a more professional result.

I got the Teflon coating when I purchased the car in 2011. The car shines whenever water wash is given.

I don't think you have to do that coating every 8-10 months.

@Mukesh, Good going mate... !
Your Beast stills looks the same as before[clap]. According to me the under body anti-rust thingy is not needed in the scorpio, unless if you really feel so. I have done almost 70k with the current beast and 50K with the previous one but never got anti-rust done. Never needed actually.

@sudharshang - How much did the coating cost you?

@Others - Teflon coating in India is basically wax coating and nothing else. So better to do it yourself rather than donating it to the so called Spa's.

Is it really useful for our climatic condition ?
Just my view as vehicle had done 4 years, so thought to take care of it.

I haven't gone for any, i have been using Sonax Carnauba wax.

Just cover your car, you will not be in need of those costly coatings.

I just wax only few spots on hawk, front bonnet, side claddings, rear bumpers and all the door knobs.

Haven't used the turtle wax from US.

re: Mahindra Scorpio VLX Mist Silver - 55,555 Kms and Counting

Hey guys there was a small issue, and i am reporting here.

The fuel lid opener of Hawk was not opening after parking the hawk for cool 20 days.

And after the service since the fuel was still there, had never got the opportunity to open the fuel lid.

So was furious at the bunk, so went to the rear door and had to pull the tag near rear left seat to unlock the lid.

To my shocking!!! the fuel lid never needed any effort to open, it could be easily opened by a finger.

However made some time previous Saturday, hopped into Chrome Motors, this time it was SA Kiran.

He just assigned an electrician, who troubleshooted the switch, it wasn't making contact.

So he inserted the Autolamp switch voila, the fuel lid opened with a click sound.

I was relieved, though initially switch was suspected to be gone which would have costed 350-400 Rs.

Other issue was Headlight on right was pointing directly to the on comers, as if high beam.

So beam was adjusted too, and the rear left tail lamp was not at all glowing during recent trip to Ramnagara.

But the self healing technique of Scorp as if nothing has happened in front of SA.

As soon as the SA braked the tail lamp started showing its true color, by not glowing.

So got the bulb changed that was changed 2 months ago.

Now everything back to normal, and life's sailing.

Total came with a bill of 99/-, yes got a change of 1 Re:tongue:

And this time read on the notice board @ Chrome Motors, Mysore Road.

Any bill above 10,000/- attracts 2% extra charges as card fee.

Couldn't understand the logic[confused]. And they have strong affinity towards VISA card.

Their swiping machine is from HSBC.

Now some pics.

Its been a while i had not updated the thread.

So far everything is working the way it should.

Hawk has clocked 53,450 kms in 57 months.

The cleaning of hawk took a cool 3 and half hours [glasses].

Afterall it was not covered and washed for the past 2 months, as it was frequently raining.

Today waxed the car with Turtle wax.[:)]

Your car still looks as good as new..

I feel the height at the rear is more when compared to the front, is it same on all Scorpio's ?

Its normal Varun, as i was standing on footpath and clicked it from the height.

It seems like more height at the rear.

And its time to replace the TAI sticker at the rear.

Your beast is looking great and you have indeed maintained it very well.

And the wax treatment has done a perfect job buddy.[;)]
