Eagerly waiting for it to launch
Autocar India reports, in an interesting development, that Mahindra is likely to continue selling existing Scorpio (which will soon receive a mild facelift) along with the new model. This is done to retain side-facing rear seats that still hold demand in certain consumer segment. Placing side-facing seats on last row won't be feasible in the new model due to negative impact on crash tests. Thus, new model will have a different moniker as well (link).

teaser looks good but why are they saying it will compete with the D segment ? will this sit above the xuv700 ? my cousin bought the xuv700 recently and the advisor told him that the current generation scorpio won't be phased out but will sell alongside this new big daddy SUV.

In the last pic where rear is shown you can see some letters are embossed on black part above bumper. Looks like name “SCORPIO” like current Generation has on side Fybre is mentioned. Adding zoom screen shot of rear with arrow marks. Count the letters and its 7.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio N officially revealed - launch 27th June
Mahindra today announced that its new Mahindra Scorpio SUV will be called Mahindra Scorpio-N to be launched in India on June 27. The company has also shared images of the new Mahindra Scorpio-N revealing added information regarding the new SUV. Additionally, the current generation of Mahindra Scorpio will continue to retail under a new name, Mahindra Scorpio Classic. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines, and a choice of manual and automatic transmissions, along with 4x4 capabilities.
Codenamed Z101, the new Mahindra Scorpio N is built on a new body-on-frame platform and will be equipped with modern features and the latest technology in addition to new design both externally, and internally. The exterior of the new Mahindra Scorpio-N is quite bold based on the same boxy silhouette from before. In front, the new Mahindra Scorpio-N features a new grille,

Personally I feel Mahindra has got it right with the colours. Somehow was not too fond of the colours given to the 700..

The all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N will make its global debut in India on June 27, 2022, and there’s a lot of buzz around it. It will be the biggest launch of the year from the house of this Mumbai-based home-grown UV maker. Ahead of its world premiere, Mahindra has now officially revealed the interior images of the Scorpio-N that reveal some key features of the SUV.
The all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N will make its global debut in India on June 27, 2022, and there’s a lot of buzz around it. It will be the biggest launch of the year from the house of this Mumbai-based home-grown UV maker. Ahead of its world premiere, Mahindra has now officially revealed the interior images of the Scorpio-N that reveal some key features of the SUV.
Mahindra’s new-age SUVs are quite feature-rich and the same is true for the new Scorpio-N as well. The official video of the SUV reveals that it will get a premium dual-tone dashboard along with optional captain seats for middle-row passengers. It will feature an Adrenox-powered large 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an electric sunroof, Sony’s premium sound system, dual-zone climate control, and more.
The all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N will share its powertrains with the XUV700 but might be offered in a lower state of tune. It will get a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol motor and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. Transmission options will include a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed torque-converter AT. It will feature Mahindra’s new 4 XPLOR sophisticated 4WD system as well.
