Hi Akash, My question is whether the engine Mhawk tune down from 2200 to 1900?
My second question is about MLD. Whether Eaton introduce MLD for new gen Scorpio, if yes then what is the part no? Thanks..

Mahindra's recent launch Nuvosport is a vehicle worth Rs 10 lakhs but it's loaded with Faux Leather seats, where Mahindra SCORPIO's Top Model S10 is about Rs 16-17 Lakhs does not have Leather seats. Irony of indian Brands. [anger]

Saw this video on Facebook, I really wonder if Mahindra made more stiffer chassis by hydroforming in New Generation SCORPIO then why this kind of result came?
There are other videos which shows almost all of the Indian as well as some other brand cars don't have proper safety features & they got 0 in rating which includes SCORPIO. I saw last generation SCORPIO tested for GobalNCAP which got 2-3 stars. How come latest SUV by Mahindra got 0 in this.

See buddy, we can take these zero ratings with a pinch of salt for any vehicle without Airbags and hence we can wait for ratings for the airbag equipped versions of the same cars to see what exactly they score in adult occupant protection.

Then what is disturbing? The body shell being declared unstable in case if Scorpio. It is a million rupee SUV which weighs around 1.8 tonnes and still the area ahead of the B pillar has crumpled like it's made of paper. I don't know how will the airbag equipped version fare but will never want anyone to be in the driver seat of a Scorpio hitting something at a collision speed of 64 kph.

The way the area ahead of B pillar has crumpled is really worrisome. It is something like airbag opens up but the driver still ends up dying because he/she hit some bent metal piece or the broken A pillar etc pierce through the body of the driver killing him even with airbag opened up.

Thank you for commenting on this Vipul sir. Its really shocking to see Mahindra SCORPIO got 0 in crash test. Response from Mahindra will be the vehicle tested was not equipped with air-bags but still the way that SCORPIO's front driver side crushed was terrible, Air-bag may save life of driver but driver will get serious leg injury.

Adding video link for old generation SCORPIO Pick up tested for ANCAP, which was a Airbag version got 3 stars out of 5.

I Love SCORPIO from day one & its disturbing to see SCORPIO is not well equipped for passenger safety. Mahindra tested New Generation SCORPIO for almost 2-3 years [confused] but they never worked on these important life saving features. It's really a shame on Mahindra but at the same time when I saw other videos of cars sold in India by Indian companies as well as foreign companies. One thing is sure, not a single automotive company is interested to sell vehicles with good safety features in India. They just dump new model without proper testing & we poor Indians buy without any hesitation. [frustration]

http://www.ibtimes.co.in/mahindra-scorpio-get-new-mild-hybrid-system-intelli-hybrid-soon-report-687134

Popular UV-maker Mahindra and Mahindra is planning to introduce a new mild hybrid technology to its popular SUV, the Scorpio. Dubbed the Intelli-hybrid, the new hybrid system is likely to debut in India soon.

The Intelli-hybrid system will also assist the Scorpio engine while driving and will come with brake energy recuperation, a larger capacity battery, and an integrated starter motor. The motor will also charge the battery, reported AutoCar India.
he new technology will be available only on the 2.2-litre diesel engine version of the Scorpio. This will be quite a disappointment to Scorpio lovers in Delhi and NCR, where Mahindra has recently introduced the Scorpio with a downsized 1.99-litre engine to sidestep the ban on diesel vehicles over 2000cc. Mahindra & Mahindra is the one of the worst affected vehicle makers in the country after the ban on registration of diesel vehicles over 2000cc was declared in Delhi-NCR.
Mahindra is also said to be mulling over introducing a 2.2-litre petrol unit for the Scorpio. The same is also likely to make it to the XUV500. The Scorpio and the XUV500 are now sold with 2.2 diesel engines across the country. Mahindra is currently said to be working on at least four petrol engines. The engines in works are with 1.5-litre and 1.6-litre capacity that will be developed in-house, while the 2.2-litre petrol unit will be manufactured along with its subsidiary, SsangYong Motor Company (SMC).

Like New Scorpio but afraid of...

I recently took extensive test drive of new scorpio and really liked the engine performance. Want to purchase this vehicle but afraid of famous "Clutch Slave Cylinder" failure, which had stranded many scorpio owners middle on the road.

My question, has this problem completely solved in new 2015 updated scorpio?

Also we saw same problem in many TUVs and XUVs. It seems abrupt clutch failure without any pre symptoms or warning is weak link in Mahindra vehicles reliability.

Has new Tata Safari storme reliable and free from clutch problems?

Mahindra & Mahindra recalled New Generation SCORPIO & Recently launched Nuvosport for "Faulty fluid hoses".[surprise]

Mahindra and Mahindra has recalled the new-generation Scorpio and Nuvosport over faulty fluid hoses in the engine bay. This is a proactive recall to address the issue if defective.

Mahindra isn’t giving out the number of cars being recalled but has confirmed that vehicles manufactured until June 2016 might be affected. The new-generation Mahindra Scorpio came out in September 2015 while the Nuvosport, the updated version of the Quanto, came out earlier this year in April.

The company has said that it will contact individual customer to set up service appointments and rectify the issue free of charge. The recall will come in accordance with Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures’ (SIAM) policy on vehicle recalls as there is currently no formal policy to recall vehicles in India. SIAM’s policy states that any manufacturer that has to recall vehicles will have to inform the public through the media and its official website. It also says that any safety defect will have to be rectified free of charge.

When we got in touch with a couple of Mahindra dealers, they said they were unaware of the recalls.

Last month, Mahindra proactively recalled the SsangYong Rexton in India to inspect the rear driveshaft. This recall was for all Rextons manufactured before September 2014.

Buddies,

Mahindra Introduces Intelli-Hybrid Technology on Scorpio with the 1.99 litre mHAWK Engine for Delhi & NCR

With Intelli-Hybrid, Scorpio is India’s 1st SUV with mild hybrid technology that reduces fuel consumption (by up to 7%)

Being a mild hybrid, the Scorpio will be sold with a concessional VAT of 5% for customers in Delhi

To be available at an attractive starting price of Rs. 9.35 lac for the S4 model*

Mumbai, September 27, 2016: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., India’s leading SUV manufacturer, today announced the introduction of its new mild hybrid technology ‘Intelli-Hybrid’ on the New Generation Scorpio with the 1.99 Litre mHAWK engine for Delhi and NCR.

The Scorpio with Intelli-Hybrid is available at an attractive starting price of Rs. 9.35 lac for the S4 model* and will be on sale with immediate effect. Being a mild hybrid, the Scorpio will be sold with a concessional Value Added Tax (VAT) of 5% in Delhi which translates into a benefit of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 90,000 for the customer, depending on the variant purchased.

Speaking about the introduction of Scorpio with Intelli-Hybrid in Delhi and NCR, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive, (Automotive), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “Intelli-Hybrid demonstrates our commitment to making modern technology more accessible to a wider audience. As an organisation that puts keen emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendly practices, across every process and product, we are delighted to introduce mild-hybrid technology on the Scorpio. By reducing fuel consumption, Intelli-Hybrid helps Scorpio owners contribute towards a cleaner and greener Delhi and NCR”.

Intelli-Hybrid reduces fuel consumption by up to 7%. This, by assisting the engine with electric power during acceleration, automatically switching the engine off within 3 seconds of the vehicle being stationary (start-stop) and reusing brake energy, which would otherwise be wasted, to charge the battery.

Intelli-Hybrid has been made available on the following variants of Scorpio with the 1.99 litre mHAWK engine: S4, S4+, S4+ 4wd, S6+, S8, S10-2WD (Manual Transmission) and S10-4WD (Manual Transmission).

About the Scorpio

As India’s 1st SUV with mild hybrid capability, Scorpio continues to be a trend-setter in technology with many ‘firsts’ to its name. Scorpio was India’s first talking car with Voice Messaging System, the first in its class with a CRDe engine and with a 6-speed Automatic Transmission and the first to offer Micro Hybrid start-stop technology. Intelli-Hybrid also demonstrates M&M’s commitment to making modern technology more accessible to a wider audience.

The New Generation Scorpio with Intelli-Hybrid is powered by the powerful 88 kW (120 BHP) mHawk engine and comes with several advanced technology features like cushion suspension and anti-roll technologies, static bending projector headlamps with Eyebrow-styled LED parking lights, a 15 cm (6 inch) touch screen infotainment system with GPS navigation, fully automatic temperature control, luxurious Blue-Grey interiors and 43 cm (17 inch) alloy wheels.

Great review covering all the necessary points. [clap]
Um... is it just me or is the skid plate (the silver plastic plate at the front) slightly bent on the right side of the vehicle??[confused]
One more thing (not sure if this is the place to ask this). So far all the reviews I've seen - even ownership reviews - are for the higher variants. Since I have the S4 variant, would it be appropriate to write an ownership review without risking repetition?

Me too [:D]

That sounds great, would request you to pen down one ASAP. You can follow the same template for ownership review if you wish to.
