I TDed the 6seat version, the front looks nice and seats comfortable, but you plonk into the seat, which was uncomfortable, handbrake is like very old school, qualis type.

Ride is very bumpy and bouncy. Gear lever placed nicely, and slots well, drove the Petrol motor which was sluggish, and actual user's have quoted very low mileage even below 10kmpl. Owner could throw more light. Cabin and cockpit is nice and airy.

Take a TD, and then decide.

2018 Mahindra KUV100 AMT spied ahead of launch – Rivals Maruti Ignis

Test mule of Mahindra KUV100 seen near the company plant in Kandivali, Mumbai sports only interior updates while exteriors remain unchanged.

Mahindra is actively testing the AMT variant of the KUV100 Nxt compact SUV. The test mule was spied close to the Mahindra plant at Kandivali in Mumbai and surprisingly sported very minimal camouflage drawing attention to some interior updates.

When Mahindra introduced to KUV100 in 2016, it was the lack of AMT that disappointed buyers who eagerly sought an automatic transmission option in the compact SUV. It is in response to these demands that the new AMT variant is being readied.

The demand for automatic cars is increasing in the Indian market and several automakers are adding this variant while also noting increased sales where auto variants are concerned as compared to manual versions. Rival Maruti Ignis is already offered with AMT and now Mahindra KUV100 Nxt enters this space.

Mahindra KUV100 AMT sported a white camouflage. Its interiors were noted with a gear lever placed on the dash and the automatic transmission is clearly visible which is similar to that seen on the TUV300.

AMT will be offered on both the 1.2 liter petrol and diesel engine options. These engines are from the mFalcon family. The G80 petrol offers 82 bhp power and 115 Nm torque while the mFalcon D75 belts out 77 bhp power and 190 Nm torque.

The new KUV100 AMT on test also appeared in a 6 seater configuration with front central arm rests. Apart from a few interior changes and the inclusion of AMT, there were no other exterior changes noted. Expect price to be in the range of Rs 7-8 lakhs for the top end AMT KUV100 variant.

Along with the AMT variant, Mahindra is also working on an electric version of the KUV100 Nxt which will be launched sometime in 2019, which will come in with an all new powertrain. Electric KUV100 was showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year.

So far in my new KUV 100 NXT k4+ petrol car, the mileage in city seems to be horrendous, around 9 km/litre which I think is pathetic, even assuming that it will improve after 1st service. I am surprised that, even with my conservative driving habits (most of TAI members will know from my Celerio ownership thread, that I managed to extract overall mileage of 16.95 km/l combined over my ownership) I can manage only this much.

I am inclined to ask the SA on this and write to Mahindra regarding this issue. If it is not fixed after the 1st service, I will escalate the issue. As the ARAI mileage clearly mentioned 18.15 km/litre, I should be getting at least 12-13 km/l in city and 16-17 km/l in long distance if not a little more.

Otherwise, I am quite happy with KUV, because it is a really comfortable car in this segment, with the seating and leg room being ample for driver and 4 passengers.

This low mileage both in petrol and diesel were reported by owners in various forums in the first gen KUV, which was supposed to be addressed by Mahindra in the NXT, if it still persists, then do escalate to Mahindra customer care.

All the best.

Yes, that is why I am keeping mileage log meticulously. Every mileage is recorded on tank-fill to tank-fill method, and I also use only one or two particular BPCL bunks near my home / office. So I guess, I can face them with hard facts. [frustration]

In fact, before purchase, I asked the SA several times about this mileage issue and he told me that Mahindra had fixed the problem in the KUV NXT. Also research on this issue on internet was a bit confusing as most of the complaints pertaining to KUV were on the earlier model.

Coming soon: Mahindra KUV100 Petrol & Diesel AMT, Electric!

Mahindra is all set to give the KUV100 micro SUV new variants in order to keep the vehicle relevant in the changing marketplace. A tepid seller currently, the KUV100 could pick up in terms of sales once the new variants are launched in India.

The micro SUV will not only get AMT options on both the petrol and diesel engined variants but will also get an all electric variant. Notably, the eKUV100, an electric SUV that was first shown at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo, will be Mahindra’s first ever electric SUV for the Indian market.

Pricing and other details of the eKUV100 are not available as of now but expect to pay close to Rs. 10 lakhs for the SUV when it’s launched here. This is because of the fact that battery costs are yet to go down in India to a level that makes electric vehicles as cheap as conventional petrol/diesel powered vehicles.

Talking of the Mahindra KUV100 AMT variant, the automated manual transmission will sit atop the 5 speed manual gearbox on both the petrol and diesel versions of the micro SUV. The petrol motor will be the same 1.2 liter, naturally aspirated unit with 84 Bhp on tap while the diesel will be the 1.2 liter-3 cylinder turbocharged unit with 77 Bhp-190 Nm. The AMT variants of tje Mahindra KUV100 will continue to be front wheel driven. As for pricing, expect the AMT variants to retail at about Rs. 50,000 higher than the regular versions.

mahindra-kuv100-electric-1.jpg

Mahindra and Mahindra showcased a couple of interesting concept cars in their pavilion at the Auto Expo last year. One of them was the electric version of the micro SUV KUV100. Mahindra calls it the e-KUV100. Mahindra has now confirmed that they will be launching the e-KUV100 in the mid-2019.

I have to report seeing increase in mileage post the 1st service (Mahindra KUV NXT k4+ petrol). It is giving around 16-17 in long distance, but mostly hovering around 10.5-11 in city, which is not that bad, but still quite poor. I would like to see the city KMPL increase a bit more.

City milage is pathetic, so it seems the issue hasn't much changed since the last update.
God bless those who buy the XUV 3OO, with the same engine, at nearly 1mil rupees.

True , I am a very conservative driver too, so I expected city mileage to be better. I have done nearly 8500 kms till date. The average mileage I have got overall is around 13.75 kmpl. I have done quite a few long drives.

Mahindra eKUV100 Launched At Just Rs. 8.25 Lakh; India’s Most Affordable EV

Mahindra-eKUV-100-Launched.jpg

It comes equipped with a liquid cooled battery pack and electric motor of 15.9 kWh capacity. They work in tandem to generate a maximum power output of 40 kW (54 horsepower) and 120 Nm of torque. The Mahindra eKUV 100 is claimed capable of returning a driving range of 150 km on a single charge. From zero to 80 per cent, the eco-friendly five-seater can replenish in just 55 minutes using a fast charging facility.

Mahindra eKUV100 has been positioned as the country’s most affordable electric passenger vehicle and it packs a driving range of 150 km on a single charge
The homegrown UV specialist says that there is no excuse not to buy an electric vehicle anywhere in India as the eKUV 100 backs up its claims by being priced at just Rs. 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). This effectively makes the electric small SUV the most affordable in the Indian market. Despite being priced only at around Rs. 23,000 costlier than its IC-engined counterpart, the KUV 100 NXT, the electrified version packs a serious punch.

So, how much mileage are you exactly getting Harishankar ?

XUV 300 too is a fuel guzzler, even in diesel as per a youtube review.
