Re: New SsangYong Rexton To Re-Launch Under Mahindra Brand Name

booking amount refundable till 5th December? Why such expiry date? Does even harrier has expiry of refundable booking amount?

On another note, the color palette seems to be nice, makes it look regal and elegant. Happy that a home grown company is giving a tough fight to the Japs. Want Mahindra to succeed
with this car.

Is this thing as small as XUV?
I mean I was expecting Endy like full size SUV. Considering it will be positioned above XUV 500.
However, Absence of Window glass for 3rd row makes it look far more smaller than what It could be. Not to mention 3rd row will be very claustrophobic.

The styling somehow reminds me more of KUV 100 (Grille, Side Haunches and Body lines) than XUV 500.

Somehow it looks a bit bulky at the rear. The rear door should have extended till where the current D pillar starts, this has been blackened out as a 'pseudo' extension.
Also expected to see a much better instrument cluster (especially the dials) and steering, which particularly doesn't look very premium atleast in this photo.
By the way, how many of you agree that Mahindra should have come up with a more imaginative and premium sounding name instead of Alturas G4. Sounds like a scooter/bike name to me. Someone driving a 25 lac plus car should identify with the product name: its competitors are the very 'formidable' sounding (and performing) products like the Tucson, Compass, CR-V, Tiguan, Endeavour, Innova and Fortuner, not to mention that their desi competitors have the "Harrier" lined up as well !

As Navnit mentioned, Nexon Alloys, felt cramped 2nd row, super cramped 3rd row, also the sun roof though OEM fitment, felt bit small and has been provided just to tick the box. I felt it to be small opening in the roof, just like Volvo buses have a small opening in the front and rear of the bus.

Seats seem to be pretty flat with no tight support. Rear is a bench suitable for kids, I guess.
But there seems be good head room making the car less claustrophobic.

The digital-analog display seems to be over done. For eg., the skyline looks tacky and over designing. Important things like ODO readings, distance to empty, temperature pale into insignificance infornt of the speed indicator and skyline. I am not looking at a phone screen but a very important part of a machine. number should be clearly visible and the Jazz can take a back seat here. Jazz can be shown in the ICE not in vehicle instrument cluster.

Initially from the looks felt that Alturas would be as big as Endy but seating seems to be compact. The size would not be as big as endy

For me the Mahindra brand will have to play a big role in selling this car, and if they price it high, any thing Lower around 20L on road, probably it will fly off the shelves.

Well for a price of 29L ex showroom will make it close to 34L OTR pricing, very close to the fortuners and endys. People will skip this and go for the other established brands. will wait and watch. Not sure how the market is going to accept this car, from Indian OEM priced high in the leagues of Toyotas and ford. Had it been around 25L max for top end ex showroom, probably it would have got a good traction.
